Players letting us down

Ok, he’s not a Premier league player. But with our pending relegation almost assured. It would be rank stupidity to get rid of him in the summer. If we do manage to get ourselves promoted next season......That’s the time to offload him, surely?

He's scored 31 goals in 59 matches in the Championship.

That's a better GPG record than players like Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins, Che Adams and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Don't give him facts. He doesn't like them.

It's quite simple, get players to create and our forwards will score goals

You can't continually blame forwards who miss the one chance created for them every fourth week, all strikers miss more chances than they score.

Aguero would have scored a 100 goals a season if he scored every chance created for him

Scoring goals is something that strikers do when enough chances are created for them, even the best miss most, but if enough are created they get their fair share.

Our strikers get nothing except long hopeful punts upfield to chase or flick on to nobody, it's so brain dead it's frightening. And it's a tactic that is solely reserved for use by this pathetic brain dead football club and the anti football morons that follow it.
Say what you really think.

And I really do agree.

No. We need to start building a team that can compete in the Premier League, he’s shown that he is way off that standard.

It wont happen in one season, but it wont happen at all if he’s part of the plans 🤦🏻

We needed to build a team that can compete in the prem across the last 4 windows

Next season we need a team that can compete in the championship

No point in persevering with a player in the prem then ship him out when we return to a level he’s proven at

Build to his strengths, get up then bomb him out - same as we did with Madine

McBurnie is a very good striker.

At Championship level.
he was a very good striker at championship level but with a club that played a completely different style to ours i dont think he fits our system and im not convinced he will be a success for us next season i would sell if we get a decent offer for him

So why not let's see how he does with us at Championship level.

If he starts scoring then he fits in, the team know how to provide good service to him (and Brewster and Sharp etc) and we get promotion and we go again :)

Easy! ;)

If we have aspirations of being a Premier League team again we need to arrive with players of Premier League pedigree. If we wait until we’re promoted to strengthen, we have seen that we can neither attract top players nor compete financially on wages.

We must establish a side good enough to compete whilst we are still in the Championship, however long that takes.
Sadly that means the whole squad needs an overhaul, but without doubt nearly every first team striker on the books now, would need to be replaced before we go back to the Premier League, because none of them will cut it in another two years time

McGoldrick too old, can’t finish can’t shoot
Sharp great striker but will be too old
McBurnie too slow in thought and deed for PL
Burke Speedboat no driver
Brewster unknown but can’t write him off?
Mousett Stealing a living, hearts not in it.

Agree in an ideal world......
However if we can’t attract those EPL players having finished 9th in the premiership, how are we going to attract them in the championship?!

Villa came up same time as us
Stayed up then brought those players in

Which premier league players are going to drop down a division, in the hope we go up, to be able to cement that stay?

You’re right we can’t sign established PL players, so we have to up our game. It won’t happen overnight, but by targeting the right sort of young up and coming talent and a few older heads, we can build a team to destroy the Championship. Only then will we have a side ready to compete in the Premier League.

We should know by now we can’t compete financially, so we need to get more proactive and astute in the recruitment department.

I don’t think we’ll go up next year, but I’m happy to wait and watch us evolve, if it means we have a chance of a sustained PL existence

Need a big clear out next season.

For starters...

McBurnie
Lundstram
Stevens
Mousse
Robinson
Rodwell
Moore
(There will be others)

Berge and JOC will most likely move on and Ampadu to go back.

Next season starting 11...

Ramsdale

Lowe
Basham
Egan
(New guy)
Bogle

Norwood
(Swift)
Fleck

Burke
Didsy

In essence, we need to move on and bring in around 10 players.

No 1 priority is GOAL SCORER and a John Swift type player.

UTMB

Reading wouldn't let us have Swift when we're in the Prem, I seriously doubt they would let us have him when we're competing with them in the Championship!

And JOC is going nowhere, not until at least January if he proves he's the same calibre player after his injury.
