If Coutts plays like he did last season of near it I'd guess he'll be given a new contract. Fleck and Coutts the best centre mid partnership we've ever had in my time as a Blade 1989 - onward although heroic wise I'd have to be Bob Booker (shock) alongside Mark Patterson! I accept that particular partnership might be a tad lacking in guile, craft and creativity but not in bookings, effort, tackles and heading! Beautiful! Hodges would create from the wings anyway! Ha ha

I think you can add Simon Moore to that little list. Unless I missed the announcement.

That list reflects great credit on Chris Wilder and his team.

Not one of his key players coming out of contract for at least 2 years.

He was never going to give Coutts an extension whilst he was injured and I'm sure he will be talking to him, Bash and maybe Sharp soon.

For me though he has shown excellent contract management and there's not much more he can do as a manager.

You were correct. Moore signed a deal for three years plus an additional one if we trigger it. For all intents and purposes, he has two years left:

I'd suggest we have either triggered a one year extension option, or offered him a contract entitling us to compensation (due to him being a former academy player).

I’d give Coutts just an extra year for now, until he proves his confidence hasn’t been shot to bits again. If he does prove to still be roughly the same player then give him an additional 2 years.

Good to hear from Wilder today that after 2 more games Billy’s contract will auto renew. Shows what bollocks a few posters were spouting about us not renewing sooner.
