How in any rational universe can Yeovil finish above us?
Because United are run by morons.

How in any rational universe can Yeovil finish above us?
I've just done a few sums;
In round numbers United's average crowd is 18,500 and Yeovil's is 4000. Let's take that figure as teh basis of the club's turnover (I know there will be other income streams that add to turnover, but that shouldn't effect proportions).
Assuming an average ticket price of £20 per game and 23 games, that means United's turnover is £8,510,000 and Yeovil's £1,840,000.
Applying the 65% rule, that means United have £5,531,500 to spend on players wages and Yeocil £1,196,000. If we assume a first team squad of 20 that means the average wage United can pay is £2765.75 per week and Yeovil's is £598 - i.e. our players will be on roughly four times the wages of the Yeovil players.
How in any rational universe can Yeovil finish above us?
If, as expected, Brentford take second, we will be in the play offs against 3 teams with a grand total of 1 year (Swindon in 93-94) in the top division compared to our 60.
Also, the average attendances of Yeovil, Doncaster and Swindon put together is only just higher (19,837) than ours (18,553). For fuck's sake, Yeovil's is not even a quarter of ours (4071) and they are likely to finish above us.
Thats how low we have sunk.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that the playoffs are now heavily weighing on the minds of the staff and players of the club and they couldn't give a shit where they finish in the league?
I dread to think what would happen if our club got into a Bury or Pompey situation, where the fate of the clubs existence rested in the actions of the fans. Unitedite's would be too busy whinging, moaning and fighting amongst ourselves to get anything done in time.
Talk about doing the autopsy before the patient is even dead.
I've been saying that but I know I'll go if we get there.

I wont Walthy - I really can't stomach the same shit all over again and the wedge that goes with it. Not even the beer and the social aspects are tempting me. They just don't deserve any backing whatsoever.
If I had my way I would urge everyone to boycott the final (if by some fluke we got through to it) as a protest at:
a) the shit level we have fallen to as a club
b) the sub standard quality of "professional" on offer
c) the extortionate Wembley pricing for tickets, refreshment etc that make up such a miserable event.
Is that bad of me?
Always dreamed of seeing my Blades at Wembley as a kid - now I utterly dread it

So you want to boycott the chance to better both the level that club finds itself and the standard of professional on offer?
Right....
that's my metric of failure/success mate.. if you set up a league of wages then the position you finish in the real table should reflect this.. if you finish below your position in the expenditure table then you have failed simple as. apparently .. ahem..we have the highest wage bill in the division.. therefore our final position should be??I've just done a few sums;

Yep - 'cos the other way round is working a treat isn't it?
It's called a protest - and I suggest such action is far better than swearing, slagging off and booing every touch a player takes. Also take note, it's not just United it's a protest at, it's Wembley and the FA as well.
