That's about the only rational reason I've seen for playing it later - if we must have play offs that is
AyeDonny is in South Yorkshire. Unfortunately.
Aye
The point was plenty of trains don’t stop @ Donny
Apologies - I was slow in spotting your humourDonny is in South Yorkshire. Unfortunately.
No problem mate!Apologies - I was slow in spotting your humour
Perhaps there’s a reason why plenty of trains from up here don’t stop / avoid Donny![]()
We can't have traditional 3pm kickoffs, unless the alternative time clashes with the Eurovision Song Contest FFSTV Audiences the same has happened for the FA CUP FINAL

Depends what you class as embarrassing.could be embarrasing if its sunderland same as pigs they will sell 45k if they can get them were likely to be lucky to sell 30k
Back in the day, the London Blades HQ was The Harp on Chandos Place (convenient for any Trafalgar Square fountain-related activities), but I've no idea if that's still the case. We’re making a weekend of it & will be stopping down on the Saturday night. Wendy.Who is arsed ?
Forest have quite a hefty fan base as they take in loads from the Nottinghamshire towns and villages, Lincolnshire and South Derbyshire. They’ve also got the 2 European Cups etc behind them. Plenty of glory supporters ready turn up for the big occasion. The Leeds of that part of the midlands.Boring the we won’t sell out Wembley/2ND Leg talk
Maybe we just aren’t a club that has 45K fans who can attend a game at the drop of a hat
Maybe Wendy/Forest have 5/10k more fans than us
Who is arsed ?
Stanmore or Watford seem popular.I've never been to Wembley and whilst I would have preferred to get a train down, if they're already looking sold out/unavailable for the return I'll just drive down on my own. For those that have driven to Wembley or driven south and got the tube in, do you have any advice on where best to drive to, park, tube in etc? Any tips or tricks very much welcome!

It does keep the excitement of the season and keeps meaning in games, until the end of the season, so I'm generally for it.More clubs benefit and it Keeps the season alive
Yes it is a cup competition should be a round robin
Team third get all home fixture
Team fourth get two home fixtures
Team fith get one home fixture
Team sixth get none
No Wembley
Agreed. Good post!It does keep the excitement of the season and keeps meaning in games, until the end of the season, so I'm generally for it.
Obviously the EFL, Sky etc. etc. want their pound of flesh, so it will never be scrapped.
It seems unfair that no real advantage is gained for achieving more points over the course of the season. I'd like to see this changed.
I think a new model would reward the efforts of the season, placate the money people and keep things interesting and exciting until the final day of the league season.
Something like:
3rd place - Straight to Wembley Final
4th place at home v winner of 5th v 6th
5th place v 6th place, two legs, 5th at home second leg
That way 3rd have to win one game for promotion, 4th 2 games, 5th/6th 2 games plus win the 2 legs overall.
This would generate one less 'marketable' play off game. This could be replaced with a 1 off relegation match between 3rd and 4th bottom (4th bottom at home for an advantage) This would also drag extra teams into relegation peril and give more teams something to play for until the league concludes.
I'm sure there would be other potential issues with this, but just a thought, to increase a merit based advantage for league standing.
UTB
Looking like a busy and expensive weekend now.
England v Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge Friday

Paul Heaton at BDTBL on Sunday (although that's Sunday evening).

I believe all games need sign off from various Plods and SAG bodies etc. I don’t think it’s as simple as Sky saying “it’s 5:30 because Bullseye’s on later” and everyone else going “ok then” especially if Sunderland are playing. This is why there is no official timing announced yet.If they are not able to announce it until after tonight's game, surely that means who we're playing is going to have some impact on what the KO time will be? Perhaps we'll get a slightly earlier KO if its Sunderland, and something like 5.30 if Coventry? Just guessing. But I see no need to keep it secret until after the semis unless there is some flexibility/decision to be made(?)
I don't see who benefits from it being 5.30 rather than 3. Are millions more neutrals going to watch on Sky at that time? Can't see it.I believe all games need sign off from various Plods and SAG bodies etc. I don’t think it’s as simple as Sky saying “it’s 5:30 because Bullseye’s on later” and everyone else going “ok then” especially if Sunderland are playing. Advertising innit. The broadcasters get significantly more ad revenue the nearer the broadcast is to the peak in the evening.I don't see who benefits from it being 5.30 rather than 3. Are millions more neutrals going to watch on Sky at that time? Can't see it.
On the other hand it's more work for plod, travel home by public transport is pretty impossible, and gives the idiots more chance to booze/stick stuff up their nose all day pre game
