East of the Pennines ,between Newcastle and Leicester (190 miles), there is only one other PL team, and we all know who that is don't we?.
It just seems strange to me that with a catchment area, which includes Wearside, Teeside, Leeds, Hull, Bradford, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Nottingham. and Derby the representation in the PL is so thin on the ground.
This all the more galling when you consider that just over the Snake Pass there are five PL teams all within spitting distance of each other. It just shows ( in footballing terms) how this side of the Pennines generally has stood still, whilst over the hill has gone from strength to strength.
Can anyone give a reason for this situation? because I'm at a loss.
