Yep, it's incredibly childish and cringeworthy. Even more embarrassing when it's used by adults...Anyone else cringe a little at this insult
This is true.In fairness, aye it's a bit shit- not quite up there with Bristol City calling Rovers 'the gas' but a bit shit yes.
Fully agree.Grown adults debating who was called pigs first is worse.
Fully agree.
It was us though![]()
Same reason I don't eat pork.Anyone else cringe a little at this insult, personally got nothing against pigs as an animal, and therefore don't see it as an insult. I remember Tyler commenting on the intelligence of pigs and that is why he didn't eat pork.
In the 70's it was quite common (at my school) for Unitedites to call Wednesday "The Pigs".
It all revolved around Wednesdays new Owls badge, think that design came out in 1973 or 74.
Their fans were really proud of their new simplified badge, it was easy to draw and put graffiti everywhere.
I was shown a cool trick (little things amuse small minds, but we were kids) and repeated it on my friends at school.
You would draw the new Owls badge, then (in a Rolf Harris style) you'd turn the Owl into a drawing of a pig.
In the late 70's and early 80's graffiti was quite common everywhere
and again you''d see that a Wednesday fan draw their badge on a wall
Then a Blade would come along later to do some small amendments to the drawing turning the Owl into a pig.
When I lived in Norfolk (and they know a thing or two about such things), an old boy told me the following: Dogs look up to people, cats look down on people, but pigs treat people as equals.Pigs/Blunts
Always found it very very cringey
Same reason I don't eat pork.
Blunts is very cringeyPigs/Blunts

Ray,
I believe Bristol Rovers are called "The Gas" because their ground was next to an old gas works.
On a visit some years ago with BoS we met "Cato" (Burt Kwouk) from the Pink Panther films, in a micro pub, not far from the ground.
.......it really was him, trouble is he didn't know it.![]()
