LikewiseI didn’t see you there![]()
I read that as them being cut off and prevented from speaking further. "in such circumstances" and "quick action" suggests the conversation in hand, rather than refering to an overall policy to use technology. The Ofcom guidelines https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0014/40541/offensive-language.pdf state
" in live programming, it is difficult for broadcasters to prevent the use of potentially offensive language, on the occasions that this happens. However, in such circumstances, listeners would expect to see quick action from the broadcaster to prevent further incidents and an apology"
This kind of thing seems to happen quite a lot on RS. I think there is technology they can be used to create a "profanity delay" but it would appear they don't use it so I would question if they are really doing anything "to prevent further incidents"
If you use the reply or quote function, try not to delete the word "QUOTE" (in square brackets) from the front of the person's quote. If you do screw it up, there's an edit button you can use within 10 minutes to put things right.Sadly, no mulling for me, merely some ‘squash’. On the plus side, I’ve been doing very well if I’d been counting points!

Hamburg Blade - always happy to help the newbies out.
Yes and we called black people names and picked on gay folk . Times have changed
Its the one thing that should never be used as a label.ever in today's society
I've never heard it
Which manager are we talking about ?
We've called Racist Ron after his racist comments
We've called kerb crawling Pleat after he was caught kerb crawling
But never heard anyone call one of theirs a paedophile
IM AS MAD AS HELL AND IM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE !!@Who’s the most offended and outraged?
Some time ago I had an FB conversation with a mate - Blade , who had had banter with PiGM. For some reason he joined in and posted this photo of himself.
Called Wilder a paedophile
Hope actions taken against this . Way past acceptable
Was out of ignorance in the seventies. Any one who says they didn't use what are now regarded as derogatary terms back then would be a liar. But we are I hope more educated now . In the same way hooliganism seems dated Which is why this comment is wrong. We should know better now.If it outrages you that much you need to seek help. Also if you used to abuse gays and blacks then it says more about you than the times we live in .
As stated below by a few posters Dave Jones. I remember multiple choruses of “There’s only one Dave Jones” on the streets of Cardiff before the Wolves play off final.
Does anyone have any photos of the regular callers like this guy View attachment 47551

On what planet is racism and homophobia in the 1970’s ok and calling someone a paedo in the current day wrong?! I really don’t get how someone who has admitted to being ‘ignorant’ in the 1970’s is now outraged by a halfwit on a radio show in the 2010’s.
When did I say it was acceptable then . It is how we get more civilised. Learning from the past . Slavery was once acceptable . We had to evolve . We still are doing. We only gave women a vote a 100 years ago
Change is change . We watched stuff in the seventies on tv that's classed as unacceptable now. In another 50 years we might actually find child poverty is finally being addre@ed. But if people still use forums or radio to perpetuate calling people pardons it's a step in the wrong direction . We need to get this shit consigned to the dustbin
50 years of education has made us all more aware except some . There was no hatred in our use of words back then . What's seen as poor choice of words now were first generation of awareness of what were people alien to us. I Never saw a black person till I was 16. I couldn't hate them as I didn't know them . Being gay again was alien to me never aware of it. My only awareness of it was tv characters who we know now were not realistic . You can be as appalled as you like but was a different world then As I met more after 70 s onwards you realise they are the same as us.Some good some bad . I' see no race . We are all homosapians I have 5 people of different hues of skin in my family now. I was president of the Caribbean football club for 3 years in the ninetiesYou are saying that you used homophobic and racist remarks in the 1970’s because it was the thing to do then. Why is that any better than what the pig did on RS?
