Story in the Stir today (so let's not get too excited).

26 year old striker currently playing for FC Basel. Scored 9 goals and got 4 assist last season. He got 9 goals in 18 appearances.

If you ask me then we're looking at the wrong FC Basel player. They've got a cracking winger who scored 13 goals and 8 assists last season. Now what was his name again?

It would be very funny if Selles wanted to bring Benie back after he got shipped out a year before.

On Otele though: Like the look of him.

His Shot on Target % for the latest season, was better than every one in the Championship other than Andreas Weimann. He featured less overall than Campbell did for us (nearly 600 minutes less), and was more accurate with his shooting, and only scored 1 goal fewer. fbref doesn't hold much data other than shooting/goal stats for him, so can't check him out in more detail at the moment.

He would be giving up Champions League football to come to us though, so would be interesting to see if we make a move for him.

Played less.....than Campbell??? Is he another crock then?
 
Highlight reel suggests he enjoys flicking it about and doing stopovers. Our fans won't stand for none of that shit so best avoid. Great overhead kick in there though.

He only joined Basel in January, so doesn't appear to be. Played in 18 of 20 possible league games he was available for, and was an unused sub in one more.


Star article mentions that Basel loaned him in January, and made it a perm move this month, but there's still potential for a move away to happen.
 
He's actually a left-winger, despite the very impressive goals per 90 stats (Benie's been killing it on the right-wing. Did we ever even try him there?)

Really tough to tell how well a player from the Swiss league would do in the Championship. No disrespect, but this is a league that gets absolutely torn up by a middle-aged Xherdan Shaqiri.
