Just on loan for 3 months aint he? Dont think he would sign after seeing us so far anyways!

I wouldnt be 2 sure Tino ... Cahill has some passion and fight in him ... He wants to play for something - Unlike most the others ... Ive got me fingers crossed that he signs for real in Jan

Bardsley sounded incredibly non-commital on t'wireless the other night. I lost count of the times he said "you never know" - and not in a suggestive way, very negative. Could be wrong though. It has been known! :)

i heard on Sky sports that it was a three month loan with a view to a permanent deal.

That is alright if he turns out to be any good here.

On Saturday the Daily Mail said "Sheffield United are lining up a summer move for Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley. The former Manchester United right-back, 24, is out of favour at the Stadium of Light." dowt it true and he's already been here once. Source from Dail Mail and can be found on football transfer league website under rumours.

Think it's an old rumour.

The fact that it says "a summer move" makes me think it was from the end of last season.

I certainly hope not. Because he had a decent shot on him, people seemed to think he was a really good right back, when really he was distinctly average.

Just popped up on social media that he’s retired, he thanked all the clubs he has played for, including Stockport who he only played twice for, and two loan moves to Villa and Rangers, which he played 13 and 5 times for respectively. He played for us 16 times yet we are the only club he doesn’t thank, what went off there then? Can’t remember but clearly can’t have been fond of his time here.

He never seemed keen on staying on but played well enough

Had no recollection of him playing for us. Must have been under Robson, I’ve tried to erase his time with us

He played well enough for us to get a better club as I recall (i.e. premier league). At the time I was surprised.

We were awful at the time. Maybe some of our less friendly fans weren't pleasant with him.

He thought he was to good for us. Had him down as another Michael Twiss but he somehow ended up with a half decent career.

I thought that he was at times a little bit clumsy, similar to that Hunt fella when Brooksie did him inside out on the day that Bouncing died...

I was disappointed when he didn’t sign permanently for us. His career has proved me correct.
