This question is particularly aimed at Blades living outside Sheffield.

How are other fans reacting to you being a Blade? Been out and about wearing my Blades shirt and am getting more stares than usual plus one hearty "UTB" from a passing cyclist.

Yes - very good reaction. I live in North Somerset with loads of Brizzle fans as neighbours. All pleased for us. Also receiving emails from people I know who live here that I didn't realise had any interest in football. One supports Sunderland, another Derby, another Leeds and finally another Man Utd.

The main reaction is that it is great to see a "real", no frills club getting promoted.

for some strange reason the GCB tune started to be hummed quietly..............oh the silly, childish joy this promotion has brought.

Spotted a United shirt in a charity shop up in Skipton and as I was trying it on the lady running the shop came over and said she'd happened to in Sheffield centre early Saturday evening and how brilliant it was seeing all the Blades fans.

Didn't buy the shirt in the end it was miles too big and really worn around the neck. Was a No 4 with Davis on it.

Nothing from any of my 4 Sunderland-supporting nephews, who are now going through the pain that we’re more accustomed to - still, it reduces the expense of Christmas cards...

I was assaulted by a steward at the Hawthorns, got dog’s abuse from their fans on the day and I am given shit from them any time I wear my shirt around here. I think they are all really bitter, as they had been sold the straight back up story.

The Villa lot are quite the opposite. They say we thrashed them twice (!) and we deserve to go up. They love coming to Bramall Lane, and they really hope to be coming next year.

Funny really because I always preferred West Brom to Villa, but you realise that getting relegated and then not going back up eventually knocks a bit of the arrogance out of you - unless you’re a demented pig of course!

Fucking Magic being envied by Villa and West Brom though!!

I live in Derby and it seems we are everyone's second team here... the number of congratulation texts and messages I had over the weekend... it was like the birth of my children! ....Been like this for months really everyone really routing for us...

I also work in Brum which is much the same...

Live in Rugby, know a few Coventry fans who are non-plussed.. no nastiness, but nothing to say.

I work with Baggies, Villains and Wolves. All have been pretty complimentary to be honest, the Baggies as much at the others. They admire Wilder, appreciate the solidarity of the players and praise the football most of all.

Another common theme is that they are all pleased we beat Leeds to the automatic spot.

I work in Grimsby and the people who I've befriended who are Town fans (Grimsby) have been complimentary and pleased for me that we did it. I also know a Leeds fan and I popped into see him the day before the Wigan/Leeds game but he was out so I left a note saying I thought Leeds would get promoted and we'd miss out because I couldn't see Leeds slipping up. He'll have read that on the Tuesday after the Bank Holiday Monday and they lost both games in the meantime! He's not rang me since that note I left!

The Arsenal fan at work, a big Nigerian bloke, has already asked me if I can get him a ticket for when we play the Arse. I said yes, but he'd have to sit next to me on the Kop and cheer the Blades on. He said he'd wear his Arsenal shirt, to which I informed him that he'd be lucky to get out alive.

The pig at work has been very quiet, but apparently his weekend's misery was compounded by splitting up with his girlfriend of 9 years, so I am yet to twist the knife properly.

I live & work in London & the response has been pretty positive - especially from Spurs fans. the odd Gooners that i know are also looking forward to locking horns once again. All of my mates (Chelsea, Millwall, AFC Wimbledon, a few others) have been going mad for it. We mostly take the p*ss out each other's teams but when it became clear we were close to promotion, they all got behind us. They've been good at putting up with me sharing all of these videos after getting promoted as well. Got a cheer from a few mates when I turned up to football on Sunday in my Blades shirt.

At work it's been similar. Monday was a fun day spent chatting to colleagues who are fans of Leyton Orient (who got promotion themselves, so he was delighted), Forest (disappointed with season), Norwich (we've had a pact for a while about wanting the top two to be us and them), Ipswich (fortunately a new baby has kept him occupied this season), Bristol City (he'd been waiting all year for them to fall short) and Spurs (our CEO is a nice guy whose followed our fortunes because he knows I'm keen).

The Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd fans at work haven't said owt, despite me often talking to them about their teams. You sometimes forget the whole world revolves around them.

Overall, though, no one really seems to "get" Sheff Utd. Other than my mates, who know it cos I'll have told them ad nauseam, most people just say we're a hard-working team, led by a good old-school manager, which has over-achieved. They'll know us a bit better in six months.

I dont remember universal outpouring of approval when we went up under Bassett and Warnock although to be fair social media has exploded since then.

However the other difference is we play great football and Wilder is universally liked. Under Bassett and Warnock we had a reputation as a long ball team and neither manager was that well liked.

A bloke I know who runs a 'soccer bar' here tweeted his congratulations to me, two fellas I know, a Shrewsbury fan and a Birmingham fan, text me to say congrats, but other than that theres been nowt. Football fans are thin on the ground here. My boss was pretty impressed when I told him. I remember explaining promotion and relegation to a former colleague and he was amazed by the concept.

In Middlesbrough most fans happy we beat dirty Leeds to second spot, and generally say we deserved it. Bit pissed we finished higher than them though with money they spent

I have two colleagues in the states who follow Chelsea and Everton. Why either have chosen those teams in particular I have no clue. But as far as Americans go its fun to me that they have an interest in it and follow English 'futbol' as one of them described to me.

But they are interested to see the Blades I think, I'm not sure how much they know about the second tier or if they can even get it over there, so as far as they are concerned we are a new Franchise team. Lets go Blades.

My daughter goes to The University of South Carolina and was telling her friends (male and female) that her Dad was celebrating that, as she put it " sheffield got promoted this weekend". She told me all those that follow English "soccer" knew about it from ESPN and had seen some games. It seems English futbol, is pretty popuplar amongst the future of America.
