penalty or not?

I watched the much improved channel 5 highlights and I was astounded that the Billy foul for a penalty that was given as a free kick on the edge of the box (Duffy blasted it over) didn't get included or mentioned I thought it was a penalty at the time. When I saw it back on the half time highlights on the new big screen I was convinced yet no one seems to mention it...... Does anyone have any stills or a video clip cheers?

I was adjacent to both of these incidents in the South Stand . The Billy Sharp one was definitely just outside the box but it was so blatantly cynical it should have warranted a yellow card .

The Duffy one in the penalty area from which we were awarded absolutely nothing was a clear cut penalty and the TV highlights confirmed that . What was particularly galling about that one was the fact that the ref had a clear unobstructed view of it and still waved it away .

Looked inside to me and CHL thinks so as well

Regardless the point being it was a foul. He got kicked and as is the case these days we aren't getting those potentially crucial decisions

I hope we're not going back to the days when it was said that our forwards had to be raped in the box before we were awarded a penalty. Maybe not PC today, but decisions so far have not been in our favour. Worrying, as these decisions are crucial in the long run.

Yes the trip on Duffy was blatant as their guy stuck his leg out massively. Cant understand why more hasn't been made of this.
IMHO that's 4 matches we should have had a penalty and a disallowed last minute goal !

Nobody has mentioned Cardiff first half hand ball either. Not to be seen on any highlights and looked like a clear hand ball from other end of pitch in real time and had me specs on too ...

The only comment I have on th ref is that him and billy didn't seem to get on. Had a word with him after the goal, soft booking and every time there was a contentious decision he would send billy away when he was there as captain.

Strangely I thought the linesman on the south stand side was in on it after that ludicrous offside decision in the 2nd which obviously wound billy up.

We need to get a bit more clever on having a word with the refs so they can explain their decisions. It seems to me so far this season that it's an art we need to learn.

An extremely controversial 97th minute penalty despatched into the away end.... of course this will follow a penalty at the other end which Blackman saves and then launches the ball long to Ched a mile offside... plays the ball to Billy but it hits one of their porcine defenders on the ankle a foot outside the box and the ref gives a penalty
