Paul Hart

It sure is...

That's if you listen to the papers, the "look at me" ITK's and the rumours.

Other than that, what can you say, at this point in time, has gone drastically wrong with the recruitment process?

Quality.
Turned down by SOD, not sure about Adams (can they get him to keep Ellis, chuckle), now we chuck in Paul Hart as a desperate maybe he'll do until May and do a Palace for us - and you think this is going to plan?
Comic genius.

lenners, how come you trust national newspapers more than you trust the club you - allegedly - support? I just don't understand the process by which you can find yourself following a club you secretly hate. If they cause you so much suffering, why do you persist? And come to that, why do you persist in trying to make other fans of the club suffer?

It is indeed comic genius that you appear to believe everything you read Leonard.

Yeah, it'll all be completely made-up just for the hell of it.
Just like the Gary Speed story was also so unbearable you didn't want to believe that one either, if I recall correctly.

Which stories are you talking about?

And which Gary Speed story? given that a number of reports were completely out of line with real world events. Not sure what I'd find unbearable, as I wasn't particularly gutted Speedo went, thought ultimately it was the wrong time for him and he was struggling.

Even if ultimately the story ends up being loosely correct, it doesn't mean it was correct at the time of publication.

IF it is Hart it'll probably a "keep us up" type arrangement and then go back for Sean O'Paddy in summer. I don't mind Hart myself

absolutely fookin marvelous mccabe !!!! if its true, whats this guy ever achieved apart from sending wendys down and that was very close in the end

Newspapers often tell the truth, they also often stretch things a little to make a story. However generally they are independent and offer or should offer an objective view of what is happening. That is their purpose.

United have a pr machine (not a very good one) whose purpose is to put a positive gloss on everything and to not give us the bad stuff (remember the 'ST sales are the same as last year' line they spun in the summer that many on here believed cos the club said it)

Do you really think the board are going to put out a press release saying everything has gone tits up in the managerial search cos nobody wants to come on our terms.

Like in many walks of life the closest you will get to the truth is actually via the media.

I'm not saying it has all gone tits up - though it looks that way - but it would be ridiculous to start dismissinig everything you read in the paper cos the club hasn't said anything yet. It's not the way it works.

I'm well aware of that :)

My point is merely that the press and the "look at me" ITK'ers aren't the gospel truth and that they shouldn't be believed as such ;)

I base my own opinion on what I know and have heard first hand, then I rate the media speculation on my own opinion of it's plausability.

I reckon it's all a foul rumour started by SUFC, so that we feel mightily relieved when we appoint Adams :-)

Or a foul rumour started by SUFC just to see how gullible some sections of the support really are.

i wish the mail would make up there minds. looks like McCabe realy wants Adams if this is anything too go by

for the none link openers

Micky Adams, front-runner for the Sheffield United manager’s job, is on the brink of a huge salary increase.Adams is understood to be paid just £65,000 a year at Port Vale where he has relaunched his career in the last 19 months after winning promotions with Fulham, Brighton and Leicester. If he gets the nod ahead of Phil Brown, Paul Hart and Brentford’s Andy Scott, Adams can expect around four times his current salary.

he has been interviewed twice by the Blades board and his current pay seems to make a mockery of Vale’s threatened £500,000 compensation claim. Settling with the League Two promotion-seekers is unlikely to prove a stumbling block, although United appear to be sticking to their plan of delaying an appointment until the New Year.

Caretaker John Carver is expected to remain in charge at Burnley on Saturday.
