In fairness to Bamford he can hardly be expected to be Johnny on the Spot, when the dearth of talent behind him keep aimlessly booting it up the field. Also the service from the flanks was non existent.

In the playing squad or at the club overall?

If the former, I think what we have is probably 2-3 players away from being an upper midtable team.

1 x CB
2 x wide forwards

If we don’t get any of those then I think we’re lower midtable but probably not at risk of relegation. Off field bullshit may change all that, of course.

Bamford is a great player when he's confident. Are people already forgetting that he basically stopped us being relegated last year? Until we signed him and Jairo we were bang in trouble.

Put the boot in on our best players. It's the Blades way.

Yeah, fair point. A lot depends on what he has around him. I suppose my point overall was that he still has an eye for goal and (with the right service) looks capable of being one of the better strikers in the division.

Honestly. I don’t rate him that highly and in an ideal world, he needs stiffer competition for the starting shirt cos atm he has none.
