We have to be careful not to descend into self-aggrandisement and arrogance. Wednesday celebrated a 0-0 last year like a win, I don't want us to start celebrating last night like an achievement. We kept the ball more than they did. Whoopy-do. Having the lion's share of the ball and not being able to do something with it, isn't something to boast about in my book. We could be in 5th place by the end of this round of matches, with more tricky games to follow. The truth is that we drew against a bang average side that had effort & organisation. A side that had shifted 13 goals in the last four games, didn't shift one against us. When Leeds come to BDTBL, they won't be so restrained in their play.
When viewed within the context of where we are currently & where I want us to end up, it should be a cause for concern. If we can't find a way of breaking down limited sides, then we won't progress. The same was said last season, and we've still not found a way 12 months later. We need to be reactive to the other team's tactics, and flexible in our own. We've gone from the promotion form of 2 points a game average to the bottom 6 average of 1 point a game in the last 5 games, in the same time frame Norwich have got 12 points, that is the benchmark, not 75% possession, and not a shitty point against a shitty team. Being a harsh judge, it's not good enough, and let's not pretend otherwise.
