So in summary:-

United played really well.

Wednesday were the worst team United have played all season.

United didn’t create a chance for the whole match apart from the penalty.

Something doesn’t add up....,

You're chairman said you're in big trouble if you don't get promoted.
You're 17th in the league and playing for a 0-0 draw with players on £2m/per annum.
How's that going to work out?

Have you seen the stats? :) :)

My Wendy gf's dad summed it up for me saying we steadily ran out of ideas whilst they never had any.

I can't grumble at how we went at em at all. Id play the shitbags every week if we could
A simplistic way of suming the game up but he got it right ,when in total control it does dribble away even Man City occasional y have that problem

i have a lot of texts this morning
that game was on world wide tv.. some of my mates were watching it in Austria.. it sent out a statement of what we are about and what they are about.. they came playing like a lower team desperate for a draw
many mentioned the quality of our play
so ok we didn’t win but image wise we’ve definitely put them in their place

...they came for a draw and got one, we wanted a win and didn't get one. A few more results like that, and we'll have opportunity next season to discuss the same.

Think they're planning to get promoted next season, League 1 should be easier on paper.

more to this than results..

We have to be careful not to descend into self-aggrandisement and arrogance. Wednesday celebrated a 0-0 last year like a win, I don't want us to start celebrating last night like an achievement. We kept the ball more than they did. Whoopy-do. Having the lion's share of the ball and not being able to do something with it, isn't something to boast about in my book. We could be in 5th place by the end of this round of matches, with more tricky games to follow. The truth is that we drew against a bang average side that had effort & organisation. A side that had shifted 13 goals in the last four games, didn't shift one against us. When Leeds come to BDTBL, they won't be so restrained in their play.

When viewed within the context of where we are currently & where I want us to end up, it should be a cause for concern. If we can't find a way of breaking down limited sides, then we won't progress. The same was said last season, and we've still not found a way 12 months later. We need to be reactive to the other team's tactics, and flexible in our own. We've gone from the promotion form of 2 points a game average to the bottom 6 average of 1 point a game in the last 5 games, in the same time frame Norwich have got 12 points, that is the benchmark, not 75% possession, and not a shitty point against a shitty team. Being a harsh judge, it's not good enough, and let's not pretend otherwise. :)

saying we played better than them is hardly self aggrandisement and arrogance really
you’re right about finding a way to beat teams that park the bus though.. then again it shows how far we’ve come;)
stop being so bloody sensible :D

They were dreadful but for all our dominance and quality midfield play we still only had three shots on target. That is a huge concern for me, because they’re the worst side I’ve seen at the Lane in years and we still couldn’t beat the bastards. That being said, the pen goes in and it’s a different game.

Positives and points from the game:

Bannan v Fleck, put to bed, Bannan is terrible. In fairness Norwood is streets ahead of both.

Our season will depend on January, some shrewd business and we should make the top 6, if Wilder isn’t backed I can see us fading away again as we simply don’t put teams to the sword when we should.

They are in a relegation battle with a very serious risk of the drop, can’t spend to change anything, can’t string three passes together, no midfield, reliant on wonder goals to get points. Desperate times in S6.

We showed everyone who watched on Sky that we are leagues apart from them, all that money they’ve spaffed, all the billy big bollocks and they really are shit.

Overall positive!

I'm astounded you can make a judgement on the pigs considering they didn't turn up, got that third magic eye our lass has got?

It was just the general 'we battered/dominated them', 'aren't we great/aren't they shit', etc vibe. Same with the 'we played lovely football in the 1st half v. Derby' mindset or 'stoke's side is worth £1trn and we've matched them' attitude. There's a common thread running through those games and it's not 3 points. :)

I’m happy with tonight’s result because as we all know the form book goes out of the window in these games. Just been talking to some piggies in my hotel and they’re absolutely over the moon with a point and are claiming it as a turning point for their season!!. They say they’re going to storm up the table now!!!. I just laughed at their sheer stupidity!!!.
Deluded just isn’t the word!!!!. UTB
Onwards and upwards for the mighty blades.

Only turning point I see is them plummeting faster. Utter Garbage from the muck rollers

Worst team I've ever seen ,never mind this season

for context
We have a lower mid table budget alongside a squad of mostly league one players

If you put that to one side then yeah you're right
.

For all those saying it is worrying we were so much better but couldn't capitalise should bear in mind it takes two teams to make a game. They had so many bodies back it would have been difficult for anyone to get around or through them, cup competitions all over the world are littered with examples of a so called no-hoper getting a one off result. They really were very poor & knew they couldn't compete man for man so loaded the back line with bodies & hoped for the best. I think everyone accepts we could do a little better with this aspect of our play, but equally everyone knows if McG had slotted the pen we would have run riot.

Talking to a pig 5 minutes since. “Last night was 10 times better than the Norwich game”

Crikey.
