Parking on match days

I drove on Saturday parked at NCP at bottom of the Moor - £9 !!!!

I only drove in case the Mrs went into Labour, in future I'll probably park at Meadowhall and tram it in. I had to leave early on Saturday- as last time I left at full time it took me an hour to get out of The NCP.

Last couple of seasons I've parked in Eyre St car park (£4 if you say you've been to the Lane) but went from Meadowhall on the tram on Satdy and kids preferred that.

Cos I live a hundred fucking miles away :)

I assume you actually live in Kenilworth as oppose to being born there and moved etc.

Is the 'Bear and Ragged Staff' still open? I built the waitrose store behind Warwick Road and whilst digging it spent 4 nights a week in there. Cracking boozer.

Nice place is Kenilworth.

Park behind the Scholar/Hermatige. Don't pay on a Saturday. Got to get there a bit early though. 1:30-ish.

I prefer to bus or taxi it from S6.

If possible I try to park on Farm Rd or in Farm Rd club car park. But club was rammed on sat probably due to Queens Rd club being closed...and a decent sized crowd at match to boot!
Also on passing casino car park about 230 I noticed a fair few spaces in there?
You can only use it as a pay and display if you park up to the fence the rest is reserved for "Casino patrons only" that might explain the spaces and on matchday's they sting you for £5 (last time I used it) if you arrive less than 2 hours before kick off. Bit of a rip off but it is covered by CCTV.

I preferred it last season and the season before, and the season before...

Much easier to park. Success brings a downside too

I live 100 fucking miles away as well. I drive up the M1 - park in Halfway Park & Ride for £4.50. Really enjoy the view from the tram every time, as the Lane comes into view below you just after the Arbourthorne Road stop. Ride into town for several beers with mates. After the match a pleasant walk back with all the massed Blades to the Granville Road stop and back to Halfway - listening to P&G on the radio.

As well as avoiding about 10 miles each way driving it means I have no problems parking, I see no traffic and I have longer for the beer to wear off before driving.

And now on the field
The Magic is Back

"Several" beers before driving 100 miles back down the M1?

It doesn't wear off that quickly you know

I live 90 plus miles away and wouldn't dream of having a single beer on matchdays let alone "several"....I've got my kids in the car, ....hopefully by the time the Tram gets you back to Halfway I am halfway back down the M1 avoiding you!

Not getting all self-righteous here and I know everyones metabolism is different but if your "several" is anymore than a couple pre-match then you really are playing with fire mate.

I drive in from Manchester, tend to park up carver st area, costs a bit but once I get to car I can get out and on to the Snake quite quickly. for some reason last year decided to try Moor Market car park, one of the top floors too.... I will never make that mistake again, took me 2 hours to get out.

Meadowhell and get the tram.

Or... I usually park near Heeley Farm. Free and a short walk to the pubs

Why are so many folk parking in the centre? Park for free a ten minute walk in the other direction....

I don't do any shopping in the city centre these days due to car park prices. Why would you when you can park for free at Parkgate or Meadowhall

The "charity" car park by Decathlon that definitely receive all £4 yessir. There's a slight queue getting onto Shoreham St / Ponds Forge, but I can be back home in Wakefield for 5.35pm so not too bad.

Never understood why people take their cars anyway
Seems like a right ballache especially being sat in match day traffic afterwards listening to praise and grumble

whilst not having a drink.

So you want to know where i park my car,so you can pinch my spot, not on your nelly.

B and Q car park, put one of their carrier bags on display inside car, jobs a good un
What time do you set off to get to Lincoln to park and catch train back to Sheffield int time for KO?

I must see you every week and didn't have a clue!
I'm guessing your not the young blonde fitty that wears the tight black bar uniform are you!????

If the weather is ok, me and Mrs Grappler walk to the ground (around 3 miles), stopping for some *ahem* "light refreshment" on the way. We then walk two thirds of the way back, stop for more refreshment for an hour or so (maybe longer if we meet friends), then home for tea.

If driving, I just park on the back streets near London road (Sharrow side) and walk the seven or eight minutes to the Railway, where we have *ahem*, "light refreshment" pre-game, then straight home.
