Where do people park? I had a nightmare getting parked Saturday. I got to the Lane at 140pm thinking I'd get parked easily. All streets near the ground are permit only and the limited ones you can pay at all had cars parked bumper to bumper virtually.

I used to park in the casino car park and that was full. Ended up on east road near myrtle road. Furthest away I've ever had to park. With championship attendances I can see this being a regular occurrence.

What time do you get there and where do you park?

Used to park on Margaret St off Shoreham St but around a year ago returned to find my car damaged. Also had to get there just after 1 to ensure I got a space. Now park in Q park, Charles St. 10 or so minute walk. Not cheap but do get it discounted via work - and it is clean and secure.

Moore St. car park. £1.80 three hours, five minute walk down to Lane, usually plenty of spaces.

Why not just park near a tram stop n spend your parking fee on the tram? Easy, you can park wherever then.

Never understood why people take their cars anyway
Seems like a right ballache especially being sat in match day traffic afterwards listening to praise and grumble

It was so much nicer in the days when the police turned a blind eye to everyone parking on single yellows during match-time. I gather that all stopped once the council took over responsibility. But I have to agree, bus is better.

Some live further away than others, I'm no longer in S12 and it would take two busses and a 10 minute walk to get to the Lane, fine before KO but not always possible on the way home on a Tuesday evening.

Car park off Milton street, 5 min walk, cheap and plenty of spaces. Perfect if your coming from north of Sheffield

I park near ponsfords 10 min walk to ground.

When I've been to wba ground they used to park around the inside of the roundabouts, quite bizarre really.

I had an ace parking spot, next to a pub - just behind Waitrose. Then a gym opened and it got full. with the increased crowds it's a park - tram - bus to the ground for me now. BUT I have a pass.

Int that best bit when't Pigs loyse?

it's the same at all grounds mate, remember parking near Anfield years ago, young scally asked me for a 'quid to look after your car mister' told him 'its ok, there's a rotweiller in the back'. His reply was 'oh, can put out fuckin fires can it?'*
*comedy license applied.

Queens Road social club opposite the ice-rink is now closed but they've opened the car park, it's a fiver though.

If possible I try to park on Farm Rd or in Farm Rd club car park. But club was rammed on sat probably due to Queens Rd club being closed...and a decent sized crowd at match to boot!
Also on passing casino car park about 230 I noticed a fair few spaces in there?

Yer the Council make a lot of money on match days! They keep saying they want to attract visitors to the City, the wardens hide away and then they are sent down after 3pm and slap a £30 ticket on the car. Very underhand and sneaky. The same wardens don't come round on 'non match days' At quarter to 3 on Saturday I spotted about 6 cars in a row who were going to get tickets! after the game I saw all 6 had tickets! Thats Sheffield council for you, hiding round the corner until everyone's in the ground... Sly little f**kers!

The Mrs doesn't finish work while 2pm and we usually arrive at the lane about 2.15-2.20. Have, along with about 3 or 4 others had the same "private" spot a stones throw from the lane sussed for a few years now but got the shock of my life when I snatched the 6th and final spot on Saturday. Maybe it's not so private anymore.
Years ago I had a pal who had his own parking spot that was literally a minutes walk to the lane. He used to park on the road in the morning and we slotted into his private space at 5 to 3 every week after a few in the pub...... inconsiderate bastard then moved

Can't give you a like in case anyone thinks I like cars getting ticketed ;)
Honestly though, doesn't Sheffield Council prove democracy doesn't work? People get to vote for them as their representatives, but every fucker hates them to the core.

.... not least because most of their transport / parking policies are dreamt up by pigtail wearing, Lycra clad fuckwits who think we should all go everywhere on a bike , which are then nodded through by deluded councillors desperate to show that they're In touch with the ' modern ' approach and doing their best to save the planet.

Cos I live a hundred fucking miles away :)

I live 100 fucking miles away as well. I drive up the M1 - park in Halfway Park & Ride for £4.50. Really enjoy the view from the tram every time, as the Lane comes into view below you just after the Arbourthorne Road stop. Ride into town for several beers with mates. After the match a pleasant walk back with all the massed Blades to the Granville Road stop and back to Halfway - listening to P&G on the radio.

As well as avoiding about 10 miles each way driving it means I have no problems parking, I see no traffic and I have longer for the beer to wear off before driving.

And now on the field
