Anyone got any tips? Reading the usual sites it looks like its all permit parking around the ground? Does anyone know of any car parks within walking distance? (dont mind paying!) - We might be arriving a little on the late side so would rather not have miles of walking to do!

There's loads of side roads 5-10 minutes away from the ground (they were free to park the last time I was there a couple of years ago but may have been made residential since judging by the sites you mention.) Another problem is that there's only one main road back to the motorway so it did take ages to get out and back onto the main road after the game the last time I was there.

The main car park is in Oulder Hill School about half a mile south of the ground.

Not quite true, - there are 2 main routes out to J20 and J21 of the M62 but I always used to go (having had to work there for a while) on the A640 through Milnrow which also brings you to J21 but avoids the signposted routes that always seemed to be congested.

I actually meant just getting off the side roads around the ground rather than the main routes to the motorway. Of course, I shall be going west rather than east ;)

Are you arriving via the M61, or along the M65 and M66? Either way, if you get to J2 of the M66, you can take the A58 to Heywood and cut across to Bury and Rochdale Old Road, B6222 (Queens Park Road joins the two). That road takes you the cemetery/Cemetery Hotel traffic lights. Parking is free either side of the junction (though there are double yellows for a short distance after the hotel). It's about 10 minutes walk to the ground from there.

Going back the same way avoids the crawl back to the A627M/M62.

Cheers Trig.

I picked up a mate south of Bolton last time so came the M61/M60/M62 way in. Cheers, looks like a plan.

From the Rochdale FC site! Parking spaces can also be found at Oulderhill Community School which is less than half a mile from the stadium and a 10 minute walk. The full address is: Oulderhill Community School, Greave Avenue, Rochdale, Lancashire, OL11 5EF
Its about 10 - 15 mins walk but looks good to me!

Cheers Trig, looks a good call after getting stuck last time - one last thing - just need your home address so I can put "yer winders thro" if we get stuck in traffic ;)
