we have been doing that all season, yet the fans have stuck behind them most of the time.
Robson should be telling the players to ignore the fans. getting them jeered up for it. hulse has just come back from injury and stead has been dumped on the bench, maybe if there were match sharp they would have scored.
for 5k a week they get, they should be able to take some stick, its part and parcel with the job.
they can put em in in training but its different in a real game.
I'd hardly say they've been stuck behind at all this season myself. Maybe there have been sections behind them, but there has been a definate vocal section against them all year.
Its all well and good telling them to ignore the fans, but its not as simple as that. They are already on a total downer before the season kicks off, without people jumping on their back for anything and everything. Some of the stuff i've heard shouted at certain players this season is absolutely disgusting and without a doubt the players hear it. No matter how much you get paid, it will effect you.
Thats not really the issue or an excuse anyway, I just think i'd be far more productive actually supporting rather than hoping for things to go wrong so ya can be right and/or vent your anger towards them.
Of course its different to a real game, but they aren't gonna get the confidence back without a stroke of luck and/or people behind them lifting them.
Wether they've been on the bench or out injured, they should be able to hit a ball on target from 2/3 yards. That isn't a coaching issue, unless they are made to aim for the corner flag daily.
