Palace match thread

we have been doing that all season, yet the fans have stuck behind them most of the time.
Robson should be telling the players to ignore the fans. getting them jeered up for it. hulse has just come back from injury and stead has been dumped on the bench, maybe if there were match sharp they would have scored.

for 5k a week they get, they should be able to take some stick, its part and parcel with the job.

they can put em in in training but its different in a real game.

I'd hardly say they've been stuck behind at all this season myself. Maybe there have been sections behind them, but there has been a definate vocal section against them all year.

Its all well and good telling them to ignore the fans, but its not as simple as that. They are already on a total downer before the season kicks off, without people jumping on their back for anything and everything. Some of the stuff i've heard shouted at certain players this season is absolutely disgusting and without a doubt the players hear it. No matter how much you get paid, it will effect you.

Thats not really the issue or an excuse anyway, I just think i'd be far more productive actually supporting rather than hoping for things to go wrong so ya can be right and/or vent your anger towards them.

Of course its different to a real game, but they aren't gonna get the confidence back without a stroke of luck and/or people behind them lifting them.

Wether they've been on the bench or out injured, they should be able to hit a ball on target from 2/3 yards. That isn't a coaching issue, unless they are made to aim for the corner flag daily.

well if they could do if for warnock, why not robson? if its not down to the training then whats making them miss?

and ill happly play for 5k a week and you can swear and shout and call me whatever you want. ill still get on with my game and get stuck in.

In my opinion, mainly a lack of confidence in their abilities. Something that I think should be addressed by both the management and fans.

That's all well and good, but when the games getting you frustrated and the people who are supposed to support you berate your every move good or bad, shout personal abuse and things about your family.... Can you honestly say it wouldn't affect you in the slightest? I'd hazard a guess it'd make a difference to the majority of people, even on John Terry's wages.

ive had stick about my hair, you get used to it. saw what you like about my family really, goes in one ear and out of the other, id be more concentrating on the game. and ive played through it before so i can honestly say it would effect me.

Personal abuse can affect people in different ways. SF gets cheeky, but then again so do I. It's water off a duck's back, like Keenzy with his hair.
I have however had comments directed at me regarding my family, and if the person in question had said that directly to my face then I would have been very unhappy with them and quite possibly have reacted in a Bruce Lee stylie too.

And on a completely non-Robson subject, is it just me or does the pitch look awful?
I sat in the South Stand for the first time for a league match for this one. Normally I go on the Kop, I have done for years and I much prefer to watch the match from the behind the goal. However, a change in view can give you a different perspective on things, and what I could see was that the pitch looked bloody awful.
It's harder to tell from where I sit on the Kop, row P, roughly a third of the way up. For the Palace match we were on row OO, right near the back, and the pitch looked like somebody had tried ploughing it.
Does it always look this bad at this time of the year?

It's looked bad for a hell of a long time SV.

Anyways...... I don't think we played that badly on Saturday, and certainly not to the standards some people are making out. We created 3 amazing chances in which we didn't convert.
