come on wheres your sense of excitement
completely different circumstances, might change our fortunes

Exactly, said it for years. Why because IF we could win  it would give the club confidence. Look at the clubs that have won this micky mouse cup and you'll see it can have a positive effect (Bristol City excepted).

JPT. It's a waste of time and effort. Just because it's a cup competition doesn't mean that as supporters we HAVE to give a shit about it.

In my opinion, it doesn't exist. I'll follow the blades in the league, FA cup, league cup. That's it. Some cup made up just to give teams in bottom two leagues a chance of success is like giving everyone that enters the school sports day a medal.

There are no losers, everyone is a winner today kids.... Fcuk that, we need to be striving to go forward not clinging to any hope of success just because it might be easy to win.

No thanks, Its fair to say that I won't be acknowledging the JPT games and if anything, I'd rather see us play the kids for it than risk injury to the first team

Didn't Luton end up out of the league after winning it?

Anyone remember what happened to last season's winners

I just Googled to see who won last year's but then it occurred to me. The fact that I had to Google it means the answer is no, nobody remembers who won and it is, in fact, a nothing trophy. Might as well try to win it to boost our wage coffers, as I said earlier, you might as well be the best shit club, but even if we did win it, it's really nothing to shout about.

Totally agree, be more embarassing winning it than not winning it. Seriously, have we sunk so low that some of our fans would see winning this as some kind of achievement? For goodness sake, not long ago we were talking about Europe, now we're talking about winning a pisspot trophy that counts for absolutely nothing.

As to it being something the Pigs have never won well wop de doo, they won promotion last season, think that gives them bragging rights for as long as it takes us to join the scummy bastards.

Just shows how far we are from being the Sheffield United that we all expect if we have to get excited about the JP trophy.
About on par with the county cup, except it is national, between North/South.
I doubt if there are many on here who will know what the County cup was except Broomhill.

Wonder who was their manager?

Agree with most, though. The JPT is for fans of shitty little clubs who want to get on Look North wearing those stupid 'jester' hats.

Similarly, any club who have a Civic reception just for getting out of Div. 3 is truly desperate...

As far as the rules permit we should use the competition as a way to give youngsters playing time. It became a problem last season that the likes of Conneely, Kennedy, Tønne, McAllister and Philliskirk weren't trusted when we needed them. Instead we saw Monty at right back, Egan brought in to play one game, Quinn playing full games through his poor patch, Monty in midfield with Doyle, etc...

If we don't trust these players when we have the chance we will stop their development.

A few of the youngsters turned out at Burton last year. McAllister and Tonne scored the goals in a 2-1 win.
Philliskirk started that game but missed a sitter and never seemed to get near the first team any time after that.

Why in the name of Christ Our Saviour and all the little orphans do we want to win the Shit Clubs' Cup?

And Wembley can, frankly, go fuck itself. It's always hotter than a Mexican latrine, priced in line with Zimbabwean inflation, and as welcome as one of those posts about sheds. I don't want to go back to Wembley unless it's to watch United in the FA Cup final, and even then I'd have to give it some serious consideration versus staying at home to watch it on the telly, saving a king's ransom in ticket, travel and ale money, and not risking coming home at midnight looking like an extra from the Towering Inferno.

To be excited about the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is like being excited about watching nuns arm wrestling because there's no cage fighting on the telly.

I'm a bit cheesed off with this post as it made me laugh so much I had to quote it to the kids and couldn't find a way of taking out the swearwords. Good job my wife was in the shower or conversation would have been at a premiem today, other than to point out that I can do what I quoted Wembley could do to itself, I shouldn't wonder.

Since its close season how much is Johnsons Paint in comparison to its better known competitors Crown and Dulux? I have never seen it in Homebase or B&Q and with my older lad wanting his room painting it might be worth finding some of the stuff in the dusty back store rooms of one of the lessor known hardware stores.

Beware cheap paint, I tried some B&Q Value magnolia and it was thinner than my piss.

I can vouch for Johnstone's paints being very good
There's a trade outlet in Leamington Spa that I used to get it from (not that I am trade - just used it as it is quality stuff)
Better than Dulux and Crown

They also have vouchers on the website during the competition.
