If you had to choose one as manager, which would it be?

What the hell did he say at his interview? I'm guessing the word "Yes" figured quite a lot.

Can only hope he's got an up to date view of modern, effective football and the player types required. The squad building of our past few managers has been embarrassing.

I'm not convinced at all that this is the real option the club is left in. However if this was the choice, we've already had a glimpse of what Morgan is capable of, and if it was only a few games is it enough to make a judgement? If it is enough most would say he's not up to it which means you have to go with Page the unknown, isn't it bach?

My view of Morgan is based on what I have seen.....namely on the pitch before kick off with the same coaching method of...'I throw the ball in the air and one of you head it'....match after match....hardly inspiring.

Bit harsh to refer to a warm up routine as 'coaching'

If he was appointed and he won his first 6 games those comments would be long forgotten.

We've already seen Morgan's first six games. After the initial 'Upanatem' impact against Swindon faded, he clearly had nothing to offer. He rightly earned our respect as a player. There it ends. As a manager he is, and will remain, rhubarb.

I know it's hard to take for the back yard S2 parochialists, but there it is. When they've recovered from the shock I'm going to have to tell them about Joe Ironside as well. My job doesn't get any easier, does it?

Well if Appleton's the other candidate they're doing a good job of making Page seem a more attractive proposition, because I'd rather have him than Morgs or Appleton!

I'm not sure why Appleton would be such an unpalatable decision. I can accept that his stock is low due to his ill judged move from Blackpool to Blackburn, but he was doing a decent job in the impossible circumstances at Pompey and his reputation is one of being a very good coach of passing football. And I'd say that is what we need right now, especially with the youth we have.

Plenty of managers make mistakes and come back stronger. We'd all take Holloway as boss but this is the same bloke who took Leicester to Division 3 not so long ago.

Agreed! I thought that Pompey under Appleton were one of the best sides to come to the Lane last season, although we just managed to beat them. They played some great football that day.

Really?? Wouldn't go that far they had one good loanee but can't remember them being that good? Wouldn't be too downbeat about Appleton though, he had a strange 2012-3 but obviously is rated highly by many. It seems he did get tired of situation at Pompey and don't see how here would be too much different, however - perhaps he would jump ship first time he could again.

Appleton has done nothing in his managerial career to suggest he would be any good. The squad he had at Portsmouth had some very good players in it for this level but still did nothing. He had two jobs in a row lasting for less than 70 days. We need two things that he has shown no signs he can give us: stability and ability.

Again, I'd rather have an unknown than someone that has already shown they have little to offer.
