I personally think the squads okay without loans but Clough's made clear he wants one or two strikers. Surely this search would be aided with money saved on McCarthy? I know they've said Warnock's helping us out but I'm sure there's a fair cost involved. So to me it doesn't make a great deal of sense getting a loan in an area where we have 6 (Basham, Mcevely, Collins, McGahey, Kennedy, Alcock) reasonable options already at the club. McCarthy's defending is good but so is Basham's and Mcevely's (motm on saturday for me) and they (especially Basham) bring the ball out much better. Basham's runs out of defence lately have been welcome as I genuinely feel that part of Maguire's game has been as big a loss as any.
