Pace Upfront

We desperately needed a new striker, so instead we sold the player who was probably going to be leading the line this season. Brilliant stuff once again. I don't care about playing good football and winning football matches - I just want us to make a profit every transfer window. And we're certainly doing that.
2 parts to the point in effect. The profit bit on every transfer window can be deemed a success or can be flipped that we can't compete when the money is on the table so don't have an option. If the 1 player offloaded (in this case Osula) turns a profit now which can be invested into 2 permanent players with an additional on loan and the squad depth is added too that for me makes sense. Osula could also have potential to make a profit further down the line, if he did manage to get a run of games in Newcastle's squad and bang in 10 goals, there would be bigger teams watching, which sell on clauses would help us again in say 2-3 years time. Although I would love to say we keep everyone, unfortunately the business nature of football is we can't compete with the monetary clout of the big boys.

It just baffles me when people say: 'But if we use the Player X money to buy Players Y and Z, it'll be good business.'

We absolutely never reinvest the huge profits we make into the playing squad. We're not going to reinvest the Osula money. I don't know how anyone thinks we will. We'll scratch around for a couple of free transfers and loans then pocket the rest.

It would be good business, if the board sanctions it is another question entirely. I understand its not as simple as £10mill in £10mill out as there are overhead costs but we could be in worse positions, least we still have a club to watch and moan about. If we didn't go up when we did or sell players to turn over a profit, we could well be crowdfunding to save up to enter the Northern Counties East.

That's an easy question to answer: no, they won't sanction it.

And there's obviously a balance to be struck between Portsmouth/Leeds-style overspending and us, who basically just pocket all of the money we make. We show zero ambition and zero desire to progress as a club.

We have a charlatan owner who's selling us (and the entire team) down the river, so forgive me for not rejoicing because we're not going bankrupt.

if newcastle pay us one third of the 10m upfront thats 3.3m and that would give us our first third payments on cooper and worrall 1m and 1.3m plus a loan signing

Agreed we do play it safe its like calling 15 at blackjack rather than risking another card but without billionaire levels of investment we aren't going anywhere and will either yo, yo or become back to Championship regulars, with odd exciting cup run/playoff failure.

6 strikers out and 1 in.
Every striker from last season gone .... Most defenders from last season still here....

If we were going to clear out one area, i would have thought that shit show of a defence would be first to have a fire sale....

Would be ideal if we sold him to Newcastle for 15m and they loaned him back to us for a season

Nonsense,you can't
If he’s sold it is a terrible decision made at boardroom level as all coaches at the club really know how talented this kid he is. Usually shit strengthen in other areas and we know it wont happen or loans. Fucking shameful.
hold a lad back when he's got the offer of a lifetime on the table, plus we could use the funds, plus he's not the finished article, needs a lot of work on his composure & decision making,be a couple of seasons before he starts fulfilling his potential

It feels unlikely any team has success changing 90%+ of the first team squad

The exudus of players (like 20!?)when the rest of the sales happen must be unprecedented.

Weve no depth anywhere

We can’t even field a first choice right back or GK atm. We have nothing upfront other than a 32 year old. We have no wide players

We’ll sell Souza and Anel.

Were one midfield injury away from not being able to field a midfield or Defence as well.

It’s pathetic, so close to the new season .
The Prince Bog roll weaving his magic........................................again, just like last season. He really shows he knows nothing about football. He doesn't give a *uck about this club. Just go you egotistical arsehole!

Correction.................................... then Prince Bog roll will pocket the rest!

Who would be interested in buying defenders who conceded over 100 goals? That's like trying to sell a car with 3 working gears and one cylinder knackered in the engine.

Our biggest balls up was not selling Anel in January, as it wouldn't have changed the inevitable outcome, and Wilder would've started the summer with £10mil to spend from the get go.

I have it on solid authority that Robbo says marking Osula in training is/was "the easiest job he's ever had"

Apparently half the team think he's shite 🤷🏻
