For me
Team for P'Boro has to be JCR in for Scougall Scougs I thought cut in to midfield and we played to narrow on the right Other than that has to be unchanged. Sammon HAS to start

I think we may have to get used to our midfield being more narrow than it has been. Even when JCR played in pre season he cut inside a lot more.

From the thread title I thought you were going to name the Posh starting XI for tomorrow night - But none of those are Peterborough players

I couldn't work out what was going on on Saturday. Afaict we were playing asymmetrically. I usually turn to WHF Jr Sr on these matters but he was similarly stumped - especially as Scoogs seemed to be occupying the middle of the pitch at various times.

My guess was he (Scoogs) was vacating space for Freeman to work, whereas on the LHS McEveley had less licence to move forward, which was the asymmetry mentioned.

Marcus Maddison appears to be the one to keep quiet. He has scored 3 in their last 2 games.

Yes, correct. In modern 4-4-2 formations, real width and crosses come from overlapping full backs. Adkins' Southampton side was known for playing like that. We've (maybe temporarily) ditched this on the left because of Adams's form. Adams looks able to create things on his own with his pace and directness, while McEveley is staying back concentrating on the defending.
