We've drawn too many recently and it's now important to win this game after only managing a draw yesterday in a game most of us had down as a win.

Oxford could be without Rob Hall and Chris Maguire, their two key attacking players. It looks like Kane Hemmings and Curtis Nelson could also be missing. But as we saw yesterday, a weakened opponent is no guarantee of victory. They've lost their last two home games 2-0 to Southend and Bristol Rovers though which could be an encouraging sign.

Their pitch doesn't look great but it's nowhere near as cut up and bumpy as Rochdale's is. It looks much firmer.

I think Wilder will make some changes. It's exactly the sort of time to use the squad and we have good options. In addition to that both Hanson and Duffy picked up knocks yesterday, and Fleck seemed to pull something in the first half. I'd expect to see Carruthers or possibly O'Shea come in for Duffy, and maybe Lavery for Hanson. EEL to RCB and Basham into midfield wouldn't be a massive shock either.

This could be a good time to play them, yesterday's result almost puts paid to their play off ambitions. But as was pointed out on another thread the Oxford people would really like to stick one to Wilder so it could still be a difficult and intense game.

It's not must win but for our nerves it's probably a must not lose at the moment.

I think a point would be decent there as it increases the gap to six points on second again.

It'll have a lot of significance for Wilder and Wright.

And what an occasion for Wright - returning to the club who released him and didn't think he was good enough having become a key part of a top of the league side.

They'll be well up for this game with it being Wilder. I hope we don't make too many changes because we'll need to be prepared for a battle.

Hopefully their upcoming Wembley trip will be a distraction.

Are there many tickets left for this one? I'm thinking about taking the afternoon off on Tuesday and heading down, but I won't know until tomorrow afternoon

Another tough, tricky game and one that we can't say is a banker away win by any means

A win is really important in maintaining a gap between us and third spot and keeping pressure on the other teams trying to close it

We've had quite a few draws recently, (4 in 8) something that's not seemed quite so apparent from results during the earlier part of the season.

Let's get back to winning run starting Tuesday neet

Would be a very nice one to win at a crucial stage of the season....let's hope we can put a performance in and take the three points.

UTB!

Oxford had won 5 of their last 6 league games before yesterday, however all the wins were against bottom half teams. It seems whenever they've come up against teams at the top end they've come unstuck - as their recent home defeats to Southend and Bristol Rovers show. I think after yesterday's home defeat, and with one eye on Wembley, it's a good time to play them. We'll want to bounce back after a substandard performance at Rochdale and should have too much for them. And let's be honest, putting all of that to one side, if we play as well as we can then we'll beat anybody in this league, comfortably too.

With us not playing next Saturday, a win would be a welcome boost and put the pressure on the teams below us, especially we would then be in a 'can't lose' scenario as Bolton play Fleetwood next weekend.

And then it's on to Swindon...

Don't we have a break after the oxford game? How long is it till the next match?

Might not see many changes, go all out before recharging batteries.

Oxford Tuesday, nothing on Saturday, Swindon A on the following Tuesday.

Then Charlton H the following Saturday.

From an outside perspective, I'd give it to you 2-0. (Or 0-2 to be politically correct.)
Think Wilder will be chomping at the bit for the result.
Would also be somewhat poetic justice if Wright was to surprisingly find himself on the scoresheet against his former employers, was his last goal a decade ago? Believe it was us that gave him to Oxford, he's come a long way since then.
Meanwhile I'm crapping it about an away match against rock-bottom Rotherham as we try to throw it all away!

A win at Oxford would be great, then a week rest and then a poor swindon away.
I was surprised to see forest beat Brighton. Rotherham should be a stroll.

Well if there are any changes to be made it has to be in defence . The attack scored 3 away goals so you can't really blame them for Saturday .
What happened to Fleck on Saturday I don't know, but he was conspicuous by his absence on the radio commentary ...

Funny that, prior to the game I thought most of us were saying we'd be happy with a point!

Bolton and Fleetwood not playing (why?) so 2 and 1 game in hand respectively. Anything but a win will give them encouragement but they play each other Satdi so ones got to drop points. Scunny fading fast play Charlton Tuesdi and pressure is on them and GA now.

Because our game v Oxford is a re arranged game

Defend like we did on Saturday and were in trouble, got to get back to basics and get on the front foot and stay there.

The defence (and team as a whole) has been excellent of late, and I think there's a danger of over-reacting from one iffy performance. If the starting XI from yesterday are all fit I'd go with that again for Tuesday – it's our strongest team currently and has been consistently sound.

We need to get the defence sorted. If we are as open as we were yesterday we'll lose.

Basham into midfield would be a massive shock to me, I cannot see basham starting in midfield again, unless of course we have some horrendous injury problems

A win for us Tuesday certainly puts the pressure back on the chasing pack, who I don't think are playing midweek (although Scunny might have a tough looking game Tues night???). Weird game against Rochdale, sometimes an early goal or two early windows can put a team into strolling mode, which I think is what happened to us a bit, I don't think faffing with the formation helped either - Duffy seemed permanently on the wing, rather than top end of the midfield 3, which might have been a contributory factor to Fleck's performance??? Don't think Carruthers introduction helped the midfield either.

That said, since the Fleetwood defeat at the end of January, from a tough run of 6 games we've won 3 and drawn 3, 12 points from 6, is still around a title winning/top 2 points return.

I thought I read somewhere that he's never scored a goal in his entire career? He's done well to avoid them really hasn't he?
