Deffo sounds like a squad player and JTP (or whatever it's called now) player. Been brought in for his old head by the sounds of it.

One new comment posted since I collected these views is "Gotta laugh at Wilder". This comment comes after they all say he was brilliant for them

A few worrying signs - the recurrent back injury, the doubts about ability to step up a division.

But Wilder knows him inside out.

More than willing to trust Wilder on this, personally. And really like the idea of an ex-non league player, hungry and wanting to prove himself, a demonstrated leader too.

They seem to be really bitter towards him because he got Northampton promoted but couldn't get them up. Not being funny but if Appleton couldn't get them promoted with those players on that budget he should have been tried for fraud.

Wilder took them from the abyss to league football, they shouldn't be bitter at all!

Obviously a lower league player and we are a lower league team at present so if he maybe lacks a bit of technical nous let's not get on his back as he sounds like a really good squad player and if Mr Wilder rates him that's good enough for me and hopefully other blades. After some of the weak bellied players we've had recently it will be nice to see a whole hearted player.Could be a Bob Booker style legend and we know what he was a big part of.
Things are really taking shape now bring it on !!!

Sounds very much like a Chris Morgan type to me. I would imagine if Morgs had moved on from us to play for another club then our fans comments regarding him would have been pretty similar because he did have his critics aswell.
If this guy can be even half as good for us as Captain Morgs was then we are on to a winner

He seems like a no nonsense centre half. That will upset a few people on the kop as it did with Morgan. We all now have great memories of him but he got a lot of stick in his time with us

I think reportadly injury prone won't matter so much as Wilder knows him and will only be squad player anyway..good cover man though.

I'll stick to my guns and say that signings of players over the age of 27 should either be for the first team (and should be a key player really) or they should be younger and potentially a key first team player in the medium term.

No one can predict the outcome of any signing, but settling for short term guaranteed mediocrity is what has held us back for years.

Delighted with the O'Connell and Fleck signings, but it's a preliminary thumbs down from me for Wilson and Jake Wright.

We need a tighter recruitment policy. Sign either experienced players to go into the heart of the first team, or make an investment in a player who can get better.

The recruitment policy is to get us out of league 1 . That is the only thing that is be all and end all.

That's been the exact same policy for pretty much the last 15 years (gotta get promoted this season). Progressive clubs don't do that, they build and build until they have a team that picks itself regardless of the situation.

Delighted with Duff, O'Connell and Fleck nonetheless, Mcfadz would be spot on as well because he might be 30 but he'd be the heart of our defence in the first team

I'll also defend Wilder but accepting that Jake Wrights a genuine leader unlike the Sammon and Woolford car crashes
