Well I've scored one from a right wing cross whilst 12 yards out on the left side of the goal. Saw it hit my boot then I hit the deck - it was rock hard and as I had a back back already I couldn't move for 6 minutes.

Didn't matter. I'd scored :)

It was a last minute equalizer, took us to extra time and then we won on pens.

Great link. Managed to see the penalty win, then link to beating Blackburn on pens, Pembo scoring the decisive one, an absolute ripper from Hodges too. Next link was beating Newton Heath 2-1, Hoyland and Hodges' magic foot reminding them who the original United are and who are the pretenders!

That Alan Young one was the best I have seen live. From the edge of the area into the Bramall Lane end goal. Seem to recall it was a tight game and that was the winner.

Darren Silent Blade
Which game was it?
Were we playing Brighton?
I think it was a 3-2.win against Oxford. That goal was in total contrast to how he performed for us during his time with us.
Missed that match because I was playing football on Saturdays. I remember my dad raving about it. I was a part time Blade then. The 1982/83 season was probably the least number of matches I went to in my 46 years as a committed Blade

John Tudor scored with an overhead kick to equalise in the last minute in the 3-3 draw at home to Bristol City in Sept 1970. The assist was an overhead pass by Ted Hemsley!
Tudor had an ovehead kick that rattled against the crossbar not long after he scored the winner in the 3-2 win against Wendy in Oct 1970

Did Shipperley score an approximation of an overhead kick? Perhaps against Preston in the promotion season.

Shipperley overhead kick? Usually Ships scored when he stuck his belly out to direct the ball into in the net. Not sure he went in for things like overhead kicks.

I once saw Hammond perform an overhead kick pass, just so he didnt have to pass it forward.

I remember the Morgs and Holdsworth ones...I'm sure John Tudor got one v Bristol City,3-3 game I think.

Still not many rushing to back up my memories of D'Jaffo at Darlington and Asaba at home to Bradford (2000th League match at the Lane) so I've had to get off my lazy Google backside and look for something myself.

Found D'Jaffo's moment of glory at least, if only in Ancient Internet Hieroglyphics:
