I think the new owners seem to have gone all out on this AI model of recruitment

Foreign recruitment. To be fair, we've had sod all foreign recruitment for a long time so even if (big if) we are fully using AI to recruit in foreign leagues, that's still a lot more overseas recruitment that we've done in a long while.

Plus I've not noticed anyone make the point about AI when it comes to that Korean lad that looks decent. Only the ones we seem to think are "beneath" us.

Josh Dasilva is the only one I’d personally hope we were seriously considering. Had a bad injury but on his day is a class act & a player we should have pinched from Brentford when they lost in the play-offs.

I think some are missing the point on AI. It's to try and identify those young players from far flung places that haven't already been discovered. The aim will be to develop them integrate them into the first team squad then sell for big profits.

We will be using traditional methods to decide which available, established players that are within our budget that we should be signing. This will involve the recruitment team and the management team and NI ( normal intelligence) which incidentally includes data analysis and has done for years

Yes, I understand the premise of ‘AI’ and how it is an effective means of identifying and recruiting future talent at a very early stage, based on analysis of a set of pre determined, desirable physical attributes, traits, skills and abilities.

What I was alluding to was the lack of recruitment based on the traditional ‘NI’ for the here and now, other than Bindon on loan, in comparison to those we have signed using the ‘AI’ model.

I think long term success would probably be based on a blend of both systems, but at this point in time, I’d like to have seen us at least bring in an experienced right back and a replacement for Souza who could go straight into the starting 11.

Maybe we are, but like many of our opponents have done, it would have been better to get such players in at the start of the window. That way, they could have had a full pre season with their new teammates, fully integrate into the style of play and be involved in the training camp & friendlies?

It would if the players we want are currently available. They often aren’t until later in the window. Would you be happier to settle for second best for the sake of getting players in earlier?
