Out of Contract 2026

I know they're a dying breed but I want a big tough centre-back (Morganesque). I like Bindon, but him and Tanganga (who I don't particularly rate) are far too nice.

Depends if wolves want him and how much they want for him to buy.

I would say Perry Ng would be better, as hes free agent wont be on massive money and being performing consistently for the last 8 years (5 of those being in the championship, averaging 7.2), hes also being available pretty all the time playing around 40 games a season.
Old and small. We can do loads better.

We have seriki... as first choice, lad is 29 hardly old & his average ratings is pretty impressive over a long period, alongside with his availability.

Or will he sign a new contract with Diff?
Know idea until you dangle a carrot. You'd think we are a better prospect club wise and a better draw than Cardiff. But he seems pretty much 1st choice and been there a while & settled. Depends if he wants a new challange.

There are always lots of decent out of contract players and others available to sign in the Summer window. Wilder did a very good job in 2024 rebuilding the team/squad for the 2024/25 season including some good loans very notably Harry Souttar. Had he not been sacked after the PO Final I am sure he could have done equally well or maybe better in 2025 as we had got fees I from selling Souza and Anel. Unfortunately whoever did our recruitment (? Selles) recruited/signed a load of expensive and overpaid rubbish.

I would gladly swap our Tyrese Cambell for the other Tyreece Campbell (especially if we need to find a replacement for Brooks), although it would be funnier to have them both on the pitch at once just to make Rob Staton's job harder.

Clyne absolutely stinks of a Wilder recover project.

Boly or Wilmot would do a job.

Karlan Grant has always been a handful, although not prolific by any stretch.

Ones id give a trial too for potentially the first 11 or squad players...

Adam Webster
Freddie Woodman
Josh Dasilva
Josh Laurent
Solly March
Sam Byram

Josh Maja
Ben Wilmot
Dael fry
Ross Stewart
James Bree
Karlan Grant
Wes Burns
Tyreece Campbell

We need to avoid anyone with a bad injury / sick note record. Having players sat in the treatment room for months on end is no longer a thing that this club can afford without parachute payments. Maybe be unlucky…. But we’ve had far too many in the last 6 years sucking up big salaries.

We're desperate for a top-drawer striker. None of our current options quite cut the mustard for me, so I'd be really considering Maja or Ross Stewart. Stewart's injury record is a concern though, so I'd probably go for Maja as 1st choice out of the 2.

Top drawer rules out Maja then. We may as well keep Campbell, or have One in squad for what Maja is.

Ross strewart brings us something we dont have this season, his a decent unit with good strength and good in the air and dominates centerbacks. Hes got his injury worries but with bamford here then hes not required to do all the work load, he can be rotated with bamford and in some games paired with him. Hes a better Moore who we sold and didnt replace.

As for 1st choice, I would look at loaning or if we can loan with option or obligation (if promoted) to sign Keisuke goto - 20 year old 6ft3 (Anderlecht). I mentioned in shoutbox to keep eye on him if he got on vs england other day. Hes quick for a big lad and got link up play and proving to be a decent goal scorer, he has potential to be a very good player (hes currently on loan at Sint-Truidense V.V. with 10 goals & 5 assist in 28 games.

Downside with Stewart is Southampton have the option to extend for a year https://the72.co.uk/2026/03/25/southampton-do-saints-keep-ross-stewart-for-another-year/
The article pretty much is summed up by up, till this season his injury record was a huge concern however he has featured 19 times already this season so is it worth extending. I guess for them it will be very much dependent on what league they are in next season. Maja has appeared 10 more times than that but with less goals that Stewart so jury is out on both but Southampton have the option on Stewart and West Brom sources are saying they are wanting to extend too https://www.westbromnews.co.uk/2026...ner-next-but-west-brom-must-avoid-relegation/

I don’t think any of those are going to need to go on trial anywhere to attract decent contract offers.

Moore I've been saying for a while decent back up
Olivie could be decent,
Neil we should have signed in January,
Bree,Maja and Stewart ok, but depends on wages,

Few of these are off I think. Dickie's still got 2 years on his contract and Holding is in Colorado until end of December.

Can definitely see us pushing for Dan Neil if Ipswich don't fancy him. Although Smallbone / Barlaser is more realistic. Still think Tronstad would be a great pick up - just a consistent, no fuss 7/10 defensive midfielder.

Would be happy with Fry or Wilmot on a free.

Kelechi Iheanacho as Wilder's yearly "I can change him" project?

Bree and Stewart would both be great, but I think they get renewals at Southampton even if they go up.

possibly, told AI to use transfermarkt as a data source - not always 100% but gives a good idea anyways
