The newish Rotterdam song got me thinking, how many of our songs are unique to United, or most closely associated with us, or at least rare enough that it's likely our fans came up with them independently?

Jack O'Connell's magic, Rotterdam et al are all take-offs of other chants, but what have we got?

Greasy Chip Butty, obviously (Rotherham can bollocks)

No Pig Fans in Town?

Barrel of Money?

Not sure if anyone else uses 'Can't Help Falling In Love With You' but they probably do.

What others are there? Must be plenty.

Not that taking other teams chants is always a bad thing - 'Swinging A Pig' is a work of genius.

It's not an original. It's lifted from a loyalist song.
 
Is this programmes 3 quid song thing an in joke?

Obviously I know the blokes walking up and down the stands have had the piss ripped for years with the 'how much mate?'

Not heard a song.

Hull City have been signing that song for years and have claimed it as their club official song, the Elvis Presley version was played at Wembley when we played them in the FA cup semi final. although most clubs (including us) used to sing it in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s but assume Hull must have kept it going into the new century.

I’m sure I’ve heard the Rotterdam song song on tv before we sang it, often find that almost every clubs copies each other so it’s hard to trace which club started it.

The best football song I’m enjoying at the moment is “Waterfall” sang by the Man Utd fans. Really liked that song when it was in the charts and sang by the Stone Roses in 1989. Always makes me smile hearing the “nic nac paddy wack give a dog a bone” song as we used to sing it in the early 80’s, it’s an old song that many fans sang but Man Utd still sing it every match.

south stand a block started singing it to him yesterday and it caught on pretty quickly

Blades starting clapping and then singing it on the Tony Currie Stand (south Stand) next to the Kop -hilarious

Used to be sung in the sixties and early 70's but not heard for years and although the tune was popular in the sixties I never heard any other team sing words similar .
 

While not a chant as such, the songs that I remember from the 70's that we played were "Rose Garden" and "You can do Magic", not sure if any other clubs played them?
 
I didn't initially recognise the source material for the Paul Coutts song. It's because we stripped all the syncopation out of it. It's funk as reinterpreted by a German oompah band.

Didn't Sunderland name their fanzine after it? Hence, I always thought they had laid claim to it.

Man United fans were singing Waterfall constantly when they were away at Fulham t'other day, was actually really impressive.

I always like a chant that's a based on something more modern, a nice change of pace away from Lonnie Donegan's greatest hits haha
 
Littlejohn song. Borrowed by Man. United for Ryan Giggs, probably missing the comedic point of the song.

Might have...don’t know.

I’ll tell you a true story, in the 2005 season this Wednesday fan at work was singing the praises of the Hull City fans.
It was a night match in league 1 and they were going for promotion having about 4,000 fans on the Leppings Lane end.
He told me they are singing this fantastic song called “cos I can’t help falling in love with you”, said he’d never heard of it before but this new song was really impressive.

Had to tell him we used to sing it regularly in the 80;s, along with some other clubs.
 

What about " My old man, said be a Wednesday fan ..."

Cant say I've heard that much anywhere.

Also, don't here any variant on "shoreham boys", although I think this used to be popular.
