Out of interest, would you be willing to pay £100 to get to a night game only announced a week ahead of time where you arrive home at 2am? For a game the players, manager, club and fans aren’t largely bothered about? That’s what it would have been for me, so I’m quite keen to hear about how shit I am, given I’ve dared to question the sacred approach ticketing. Does buying the ticket and not going make me less shit for helping fund the club, or more shit for taking a seat from a fan that didn’t want it?

I want to know the opinion of the fan who didn't want it......

What if, just if, the 20000 missing fans (or whatever it was), had bought tickets for the points but didn't go? Like me.
The attendance is tickets sold not how many people actually go through the turnstiles.

Genuinely expected this to be either a really old thread or just a sarcastic post but no, it turns out the OP appears to be an incredibly sensitive soul.

Those ‘shit fans’ that turned up yesterday are probably the ones that are first in the queue for away tickets this season.

Moan moan moan about cannot get tickets, well last nights crowd was pathetic, don't throw shit excuses in response. 150 points available plus membership means premier match tickets.
And don't get me started about game, what a shambles it was worst we've played for many many years. Shining lights were Morrison Besic and Mousset.

There is a thread about the new floodlights if you want to discuss shining lights....

Sheffield United v Blackburn 9,000. Leeds v Stoke 30,000. And Leeds isn't supposed to be a football city ? £10 to get in for Blades - shameful gate.

Before the season started I was anxious I wouldn’t be able to get many tickets this season.

Fast forward a few weeks and I’ve been to Palace, Leicester and Blackburn at home.

I was really surprised to see such a poor turnout, but the carabao cup has seen some shocking attendances across the pyramid not just us...

Pukka pie? No chance mate.

First time I've had a pie at the Lane since some time last winter and not only was it not Pukka, it was lousy. Tasteless gristle laden shite.
Not pukka pies anymore, saw the boxes on way into South stand. They had 'wright's' on the box

I'm not sure why it's assumed that the 9,700 there were all those who already had 1000s of points?
Maybe it was the 'proper fans' who stayed away and those who attended were there for the points?

No real Blade would call their own fellow fans shit.
Smell of pork rind here.

Last night should have been full with the kids and everyone's friends from as far away as the moon who keep saying they haven't got enough points.
But it wasnt
Because they don’t want to go to LC games.

Surely nobody is arguing that those who can’t get in on regular match days are fervent Blades.

Fuck off Pig. N K T thataway >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Even Newcastle were nearly 30000 down on support, which is more than your highest average attendance in over 50 years.

Suggest the OP should take a running fuck at a rolling doughnut

I’m outraged..
You're outraged?!! Not any sign of Pukka pies, not even on Pukka pies corner.
Don't know what will cover up that ghastly orange/red. Pink seats are shocking enough.
Won't somebody think of us Lepers, and the children.

I’m lucky and don’t have to think about the costs of paying for me, my sons and my nephew (all adults) to go to every match.

Struck me at the cup game £60 tickets, £20 minimum pre drinks, £5 chips, £3.50 burger etc. What total price for a family to go to every match?
Some have to be selective cause they can’t afford to be there as much as they want to be, it could be argued they’re the real fans just making it when they can!

It's quite easy to set up additional customers on 'friends and family'. I've set up two which I've had for about 2 seasons for when mate's have come to a game with me who don't normally go. My wife now has 800 points and has never even been to a game!

I understand the costs , but is everyone in Leeds a millionaire ?

Leeds’ support isn’t great considering they have one team in a large city with a similar population to Sheffield. Our average added to the pigs is far bigger than theirs.

It may be a paradox, but having lots of 'loyalty' points, by definition, means going to most matches. So there's a reasonable probability that those with lots of loyalty points, suddenly didn't throw their love for United out of the window.

The gate on Tuesday was similar to other recent early round ties as well, suggesting that there was no upsurge in support from the casual fan.

They also have a bigger catchment area - Wakefield (no club), Bradford (large population, not a great team), York (no league club), Halifax (no league club), Huddersfield (historically not great - I'm sure there's lots of Leeds fans there). Plus there's all those kind of small towns that don't exist in South Yorkshire - Dewsbury, Batley, Wetherby, Ponterfact, Tadcaster all within 30 mins drive. They also still have loads of hangers on from the Premier League days from the likes of Doncaster.

Contrast that to our immediate pool and there's only Rotherham, Chesterfield, Barnsley and Doncaster to pick from. Some of the smaller towns in North Notts and that's it.

I thought the crowd was just under 10K which, I thought was good as these games normally draw 5k, fans get more interested as later rounds near mind you LC has outlived it's usefulness. Oh and I could never use that word to describe our fans that really is an insult to ALL Blades.

Programmes were only £ 2 though.

I am a typical Leeds-hating Blade , ever since our loss of Mick Jones + through countless years in between. But after their agony of losing out on an auto spot to us , then promotion in the POs (tee-hee) , I am forced to grudgingly admire the size & loyalty of their support , in turning out 30k for a midweek cup game , when we turn out 10k. If our positions had been reversed at the end of last season , I reckon we'd have got 5k + they'd have filled Elland Road (the bastards).
I have posted in other threads that we should forget expanding the Lane until we've used the £ to establish the team in the Prem and the Lane actually sells out consistently. We are fortunate that our potential fans can roll-up + grab the great view in the BLUT.
We could improve the catering & toilet facilities on the Kop as an interim measure which would itself generate more income.
I have posted in other threads about some of the anomalies of our ticketing policy - it is a challenge to grow our support but I hope the ticket systems will make it easier than they currently do.

This^

I've got 8 accounts on the go with more than 500 points
