I used to dread these games because you can never be sure which team will turn up but that’s all changed under Wilder.

I’m 95% certain we’ll dominate the match and have spells of playing them off the park.
Their best hope is to sit back, park the bus and try to win ugly.

Even if we don’t get the right result on the night, there’ll be no doubts that we are the far superior team.

Oh God no, the only thing that can make defeat to them worse is reading how, actually, we were the better side.

One or two seem to get it as well about the dolphin killer and his worrying words about up or bust
Can see em selling there Scottish Messi in Jan
Maybe even the fairy , a good few of there players are out of contract after this season I believe
Points deduction and admin next season because of there loses

Best one yet?

If our quality players turn up (or avoid injury) and we match their work ethic, we can win comfortably.

They'll be coming at us all guns blazing (their manager's ego and calls from the crowd won't allow for any other approach) but for all their high energy and pressing, they don't put games to bed.

We can easily pick them off if as said above, we match their work rate and Bannan, Forestieri, Reach, Joao et al keep cool, calmly pick the passes and slot the chances away pretty much like we did at Bristol.

First clean sheet and 3-0 to us.

Sounds daft after the last few games but that's how football likes to work.

Us Blades are starting to sound like them pigs at the start of last season, they will about come to the lane and hammer us 0-3 after having 15% of the possession. That's how it usually works if we take anyone for granted.

jauo (?)is a fair weather player? heh .. even ‘we’ can see the lad is seriously talented
get thissen oe’t t’t lane lucas lad.. ask thi old mate jordan :D

nah mate .. sounds daft period

The Derby can always go either way and I am sure they will be well up for it as will we obviously.

I'm just praying that we dominate and score 11 goals in the first half with 10 of them being soft/dubious penalties and maybe let them have a consolation near the end 'maybe'

If only Carling was served at the lane :D

I hate derby matches, detest them in fact. Once they’re over you can enjoy the result (or not) but the lead up and the game are too tense, even found myself hyperventilating at one!
The one thing that is true time and time again is that form before the game is largely irrelevant. There’s lots of examples of games where the lower placed team came good.
Won’t take anything for granted against them and I know Wilder won’t.
Roll on November 10th (and a Blades win of course)

For example

Statistics eh? They love ‘em on Porktalk, massaging them to avoid the unpalatable ones that say we’ve won 3 (three) more games than them and have 7 (seven) more points than they do.
They’re just being optimists.

Not looking forward to it, regardless of either team's form or position. Think we'll own them on the pitch for most of the game, our finishing lately since the break has been abit too inconsistent for my liking so we need to get that sorted before the 9th as a must. If we dont, I can see us really hating ourselves for it on the day.

We've been above Wednesday in the table 9 out of the last 10 times we've played them.

But we've only beaten them twice.

2008 (21st) Wednesday 2-0 United (14th)
2008 (13th) United 2-2 Wednesday (21st)

2008 (15th) Wednesday 1-0 United (5th)
2009 (4th) United 1-2 Wednesday (13th)

2009 (6th) United 3-2 Wednesday (12th)
2010 (22nd) Wednesday 1-1 United (11th)

2011 (9th) United 2-2 Wednesday (4th)
2012 (5th) Wednesday 1-0 United (2nd)

2017 (9th) Wednesday 2-4 United (7th)
2018 (7th) United 0-0 Wednesday (16th)

Worryingly thier fans are turning on everybody connected to the club, only ethyl the tea lady (who doesn’t exist may I add) has escaped their wrath on FH..

J:wow is now a headless chicken who can’t play up front, “big dave” is now just “shit dave” and Barry bananas a one trick pony who needs somebody to do his graft or the bottom lip is out, reach is lazy and doesn’t do anything defensively / obsessed with long range shots.

The defence are clueless and fall to bits once behind, braveheart wallace has packed his sporran and fucked off, the rest of the big money superstars can’t play due to injury (not unpaid bonuses and ffp,ok, injury, got that ! Good, let’s move on).

Jordan rhoades took his £10 million talent to Norfolk where now he’s not dubbed as the S6 messiah leading them single handed back to the premier league he’s thriving, maybe it’s them that’s shit and not him after all. ( hope his dad’s cheque cleared ;) ).

finally mark the pitsmoor pig wants Steve Bruce in charge once (not if) “josser” is sacked on Xmas eve, Bruce! yes you heard me right, he’s the new dreamer of choice after just putting a fucking huge club like Villa on its arse on and off the pitch, gotta love Mark haven’t you... erm erm Mick mcarthy then, know what I mean...

On a serious note, I predict a stalemate if they get thier way, by that i mean SYP when I say they..

Now, where are them the steel barriers lads...

Looking forward to the game. If just one of our midfielders turn up. We'll win. If every player plays out of their skin. We'll dominate and smash them to pieces. Easy victory predicted for me. Looking forward to seeing sharp slam a brace in. And in looking forward to seeing deano beat the badge in front of the piggy porcine bastards. Utb.

We've got to give Reach an early kicking for me he's the 'dangerman'
As for the game, totally unpredictable (seen most derbies since 1965) for me its which players (the ones with balls) turn up om the night

My favourite was my first, Alan Birchenall made his debut and backed a brace - 2-0 at the sty :)

Nothing worse than a Derby match. Crippling nerves followed by a headache.

They'll sit deep and defend. If we do our "create chances but don't score" act we'll let them into the game.

But for once, I think the result is wholly based on us. If we show up and are clinical, we'll win. If we fuck around and miss chances? Well we saw what happened against Stoke.

Never confident about a derby game as so many other factors come into it.

Blades Analytics will confirm, based on our performances so far this season compared to theirs with xG and xGA that we are at the top of the pile and they are near the bottom. However, if they defend well and Reach bangs one in from 30 yards (he has the talent and it's a distinct possibility if we fail to close him) it could be one of those really frustrating nights.

Anyone bragging about smashing them ahead of the game is just well out of order. It will bite them on the arse as often as not. I'll take a win, however slim the margin, and be happy with that.

The time to crow and take the absolute piss is IF we Muller them into the back end if next year. Then we should be relentless.
Until then - just No!

I don't like Derbies at the best of times, and I certainly don't like playing the home fixture first. Although they're not firing at the moment, they've got enough quality, in enough players to turn it on against us on the 9th. I'd happily take a 0 v 0 now, and move on. I have a recurring nightmare/vision, which i'm fearful of coming true. :(
