Our new manager is.....

We all like good football but you do notice teams tend to play the really good stuff when they are 3 or 4 goals up so confidence is sky high , we dont get in that position too often of late so the footballs not going to look good , we played some brilliant stuff when we were 4 up at rochdale and 5 at notts county , but if you watch all football theres a hell of a lot of edited highlights , Ive watched some bloody awful prem games on tv and wished Id watched just the goals on sky sports news , I watched Barcelona draw 0-0 last night , and in fairness , our game was far better.

FFS Biggs tweeting management issue far from being resolved.

Looks like dragging on then?

Alan Biggs ‏@AlanBiggs1 2h
1/4 Hearing #sufc managerial issue far from resolved. Still no resolution imminent in top target Nigel Clough's settlement talks with #dcfc.

Alan Biggs ‏@AlanBiggs1 2h
2/4 But, #sufc have breathing space after impact of C Morgan alongside the wily Mick Wadsworth. Not beyond bounds that pair could yet figure?

Alan Biggs ‏@AlanBiggs1 2h
3/4 A Clough compo deal would favour #dcfc in reducing their pay-out.He has around £400k at stake -(2 years pay at Blades?) - & holding out.

4/4 With Clough in no hurry, maybe #sufc can afford not to be either - though Slade, Barker, Robinson still in the frame. Holding position.

The mighty trophy winning Swans who massacred mighty. ................ Errrrr
Bradford

That's about as ludicrous as it gets. Who did they beat on the way there? Why are they doing well in the Prem?
You really are firing at the wrong target. I'm not surprised, though.

It's the Welsh Bladesfans' Way.

Edit: I've awarded you a LOBA. No-one deserves it more. World class bollocks.

Yeah I knows Pinchy, all the Prem. teams take that cup seriously....

Biggs is just another hack reporter. Nothing more. They all thrive on self-importance. He is not the fount of all knowledge. The new manager is Nigel Clough and sooner rather than later.

You should be an expert on that. You spout it often enough.

Kabba's and Peschisolido's goals in the Forest playoffs were from long passes up field too. Horrible football to watch.

We actually mixed it up much more during the better spells of Warnock's time with us than a lot of people give us credit for. It's extremely lazy to label those days as simply hoofball.

Chris Porter's goal against Stevenage started from an almighty hoof up the pitch from Simonsen.

I hope it gets resolved and quick

We need to get sorted, get some stability and move forward as quickly as possible in the hope of gaining some ground back on the play off teams

Do you agree with him about Swansea, then?
Look, I'm am not getting into that kind of slanging match.
You're an astute chap, with his own views - which I respect (but don't necessarily agree with all the time).
There is a lot of hype given to the Swans, some of it justified but a lot of it just that - hype.
They have players that suit their possession football, but make no mistake - the same players can rough it with the best of em.
Hard facts are:
We're not blessed with players that are comfortable with that style of footy. Weirs stats show that a little bit.
IMO we need to play to our strengths, mix it up a bit, play high tempo and more importantly play in "their" half of the pitch. Weir failed with a lot of these points- especially the last one!
Onwards and upwards chaps (not literally Pinchy calm down!).

Can't quite see the connection. No doubt you will, and once more invent something to argue against.

I told him, rightly, that he was talking bollocks. You decided, as usual, to intervene. Were you supporting his drivel? I would not be at all surprised.

If not, your contribution had no other point but to provoke me. A futile exercise I assure you, but you're a trier.

cant clought take on a job or Derby will not sign off and his backroom staffs is this the blocked it seems.

Maybe the FA may speed it for him.

I don't recall making any comment at all on Swansea's admirable league cup exploits (until now). But you told him he was talking (I quote) "world class bollocks". I merely observed that you have some (considerable) expertise in this area.

But you can't play 'high tempo' for 90 minutes any more than you can play sublime football for the whole of that time (though the very best team's come pretty close). What they have in abundance, and we lacked under DW, is a wonderful capacity to change tempo in the blink of an eye.

We surely can't continue to justify scrappy, ragamuffin football on the basis of what the players are "comfortable with". That puts far too much store on rubbish players and effectively prevents change; the logic being that there is no point in bringing in, for example only, Britton because he can't function with the existing numpties. It's a recipe for perpetual mediocrity, isn't it?

My footballing principles are not as rigid as people think. They are certainly not defined by David Weir. He's been and gone and I won't be calling for his return, by contrast with the Warnock apologists. I appreciate there is nothing to be gained by passing for its own sake with no end product. The fact is, however, that the best footballing teams have a far more effective, exciting and explosive end product than anyone else. That can be replicated, with adjustment and allowance for lesser ability, at lower levels. Should we not aspire to that vision? If not now, with the benefit of HRHAID, then when?

Impressive opinion of ones self.

Your comments on the League Cup are at best laughable:
With recent finalists such as Birmingham, Leicester, Middlesborough, Oxford & Luton (if I remember rightly)......
Yeah it's obvious that the Prem league teams don't take this trophy that seriously.
An average cup won by average teams.
Swans being one of em..

Wow, that's really big of you. After all, both managers turned our fortunes around. Unfortunately, one into a laughing stock within spitting distance of Nuneaton Borough, the other from gates of 8,000 to gates of 30,000.

It's good of you to concede such a thing. "Way to go" Pinchy.

You give Swansea faint praise. It's far more than 'League Cup exploits'. They are an established Premiership team who play excellent and effective passing football, like all the better teams.

Anyway, never mind your previous lack of comment. Have a go now.

Warnock left us where he found us but, Yes, he did well to take us into the Premiership (where he was out of his depth). His time has come and is now long gone. He's not coming back and any suggestion that he should is parochial Bladey claptrap.

Faint praise? Do you not know what admirable means then? Incredible. Yet another attempt to make up something to argue against.

They play really good, winning football, don't they?

Go on, it'll only hurt for a second.

What on earth are you on about? Everyone knows Swansea are a success story. They have done very well. That isn't the point at issue. As usual you try and muddy the water. You accused someone of talking "world class bollocks". I merely observed you have (considerable) expertise in this area.

I (apparently) gave "faint" praise. Clearly, you don't know the meaning of the word admirable.
