They went too far that day….They nicked his bag of Portuguese tarts once and put a photo of them eating them, with a small sherry, in the parish newsletter.

Not been on here for a good few years now(diff name), pop by for a read now n then, can I just put this (funny posts aside) now he's be named in the stir my buddy from way back at school 70s/80s Dave was murdered last week in Chichester by a 30yr old thug after England game, never missed a home game hated violence drank in railway religiously before games. Whilst a good chat about violence from days gone by is all well n good the cold fact is he's gone, probably had is blade shirt on ,(always did) cus that warrants some brummie scum taking his life over football colours, sad, sad world R

Yes he's been charged.Sorry to hear this. Did they catch who did it?
Yes he's in custody, was in Crawley mc yesterday (there's pic online of him getting out the police van on various Sussex media) hrs due at crown Court next week, another was bailed, a third vanished but they know his identity. Police said it was football related and these three had been ejected from the pub earlier, waited for him to leave, it's shocked everyone round woodseats, his favourite haunt on a weekend, genuinely happy go lucky guy, it will probably get reduced to manslaughter but it's still oh so sad and wrong ,Sorry to hear this. Did they catch who did it?
Sad news that mate my thoughts are with yourself the rest of his mates & familyNot been on here for a good few years now(diff name), pop by for a read now n then, can I just put this (funny posts aside) now he's be named in the stir my buddy from way back at school 70s/80s Dave was murdered last week in Chichester by a 30yr old thug after England game, never missed a home game hated violence drank in railway religiously before games. What a nobhead Danny Baker was…….Danny Baker once told a story of a time at an away match when the half time cuppas for supporters was served up alongside a sugar and milk counter .
In the second half someone was being lead out of the ground by the police and one guy shouted : " throw the bloody hooligan out , I saw him putting a wet spoon back in he sugar bowl"
IMHO a brilliant radio broadcaster , tastes differ I'm sure .Y
What a nobhead Danny Baker was…….
Danny Baker was absolutely fantastic. Talked about things that were in fanzines and topics that were genuinely interesting and funny. Today’s broadcasters could with an injection of his love and enthusiasm of football street culture.sure .
I always remember a Danny Baker interview from years ago and he was talking about “sexy clubs” as he called it, then went on to name rivalries and say which team was sexier, what he meant basically was which was not the boring dull club. When it came to us he said Sheff Utd are sexy Sheff Wed are not.
I was there and remember the old bill wouldn't let us into the ground unless we removed our laces from our DMs.Bert was in attendance, he recalls a snooker ball (white) being chucked at us.

I agree as in his Northern Soul at the Proms.I think he was different when he started, with a fresh take but became a luvvie type fairly quickly. Not as bad as Stuart Maconie who was want to “discover” music scenes and evolved into a talking head and self proclaimed expert on things he’d only been around a short time.
Agree that his early nuances were more interesting/off kilter. Still liked his later stuff.
