I didn't hear any booing at half time, I also didn't hear much applause to fair either, the first half, the first minute apart was pretty dire in all honesty, however much better second half.

I have no problem with keeping the ball as long as there is an attempt at meaning full end product through midfield. What I don't understand is passing it around for about ten passes in the back four before lumping an aimless ball forward hoping to win the second ball, you might as well have done that straight away.
I bet you could count on one hand the number of aimless lumps up front tonight. As posted earlier that 63% possession in the first half created 2 goals in the secondm

The bell-end who sits just behind me came out with a good one tonight. He was one of the chief "gerritforrad" brigade. Then when we did "gerritforrad" he was yelling and bawling "fancy booting it up to Billy and Che, they aren't going to win them are they?" I'm not sure what he was after.

I did notice that fast sideways and backwards passing wasn't met with half the vitriol that the slow sideways and backwards passing was. Maybe we need to pass it sideways and backwards, but just do it really quickly to appease the nutjobs.

I'm not one to slag the fans as a whole, but in amongst 17,000 people, you're always going to get at least a few proper pricks amongst them.

All in all I'm happy with the win in a game where we never looked threatened and kept control nicely.

It happend a lot in the first half I am afraid long balls expecting Done to win it in the air... much less in the second when Hammond and Basham brought the ball forward more past the half way line.

Bladesmad had a reunion on the Kop.

In fairness to the fans, the first half was hard on your eyes. As others have said, I've no problem with possession football but it has be at a variable tempo or it' just too easy to defend against. In addition, when your players aren't that great, eventually you give it away. 2nd half we moved it more quickly and made things harder for them and at some point they needed to come out.

If we hadn't scored early on, tonight would have been really difficult

No this didn't happen, mobile blade has already told us it didn't, so shut up.

Booing when winning is at the very least ridiculous but you can understand the general murmurs of discontent in the first half. Scoring in the first minute then playing keep ball for the rest of the half. Keep ball is about moving it quickly from side to side and then changing the angl of approach. Not slowly passing it around and then lumping it to a non-commanding forward player.

Issues first half included:

Having 2 CMs, neither of whose game seem to be collecting the ball, taking control and launching attacks
lack of movement upfront
playing too many loose passes
playing too slowly
Losing the ball from retaining possession across the defence (we looked more likely to gift them a chance from a mistake than them creating one at times)
The wide players not being prepared to go past their man (I'm not quite sure what JCR was doing first half-an impression of Flynn maybe)
We had two pacey players on the pitch but didn't try and use that to our advantage from long balls (either to gain ground or get behind them)
They parked the proverbial. It's hard to wear a team down who have no great desire to get the ball back in the other half.

It looked a lot worse than it was due to the opposition and their tactics but players need to be more confident on the ball, back themselves and make more runs.

Play like that against anyone decent and we'll not be picking up 3 points - i thought our movement off the ball was dreadful, especially first half. Our speed of thought too is so lethargic, we seem to pick a pass 3 seconds too late, when the opposition have closed us down - then the ball invariably (as a result) ends up back with the defence again.

One of the strangest 3-0 wins i've seen, i thought we were awful pretty much all game - just goes to show how bad Fleetwood were. Happy with the 3 points and clean sheet though.

Edit: booing is completely brain-dead.

Ball retention only wears the opposition down if the tempo of it has them chasing shadows. With that I haven't a problem. Sadly for us it's often at a risky slow pace that causes untold unnecessary panic within our back four that WILL cost us a goal before long. I don't buy that the ball retention we play wears down our opponents for us to exploit second half/ later in the game. What energy are there defenders using while we are passing around at the back??. Keeping possession is an important part of our game but when the opportunity arises to run forward into 20 yards of space we often turn around and go backwards. Now that's frustrating. When we do move into that space the game opens up.

Look you lot are just not paying attention to mobile blade at all are you?

I can't believe how bad our fans were tonight. Shocking the moaning and booing that occurred when we were just effectively keeping the ball. People were lambasting Howard for not just lumping the ball forward at every opportunity, fancy trying to keep the ball and play football huh?! One particular irritant was when the guy behind me had a go at Wallace for passing back to Howard after a failed corner rather than just lumping the ball back in, the fact that we retained the ball and managed to create a chance subsequently seemed to pass him by...o_O

"Anyone decent"

You do know Fleetwood beat Burton 4-0 on Saturday, the same Burton who've topped the league for the majority of the season?

Wondering if there is anything else to boo? Bewildering that our fans have started booing the players for passing the football? Ok at times it wasn't the most direct or positive but come on, booing when 1-0 up and keeping possession and ending up winning 3-0.
Actually I did notice that the sprinklers at half time started spraying forward, then went sideways and then God forbid they went backwards.....I booed at that.

It's as if we have to win the match in the first half to keep the idiots happy!

Lol. I think it's very much the point that they are currently in the relegation places.

I think thats why teams at the top have more points , they beat teams from the bottom
its not just us
why when we win is it its only Fleetwood
we get to play them and the other 22 teams twice like everyone does

A wins a win at the end of the day, and i'm not unhappy. Things did improve second half, but even Adkins was doing his nut in the first :-)

Fleetwood, certainly on that showing, are looking dodgy for the drop. maybe their home form will save them.
