Great performance; they put two up front in the 2nd, it worked. Pity we couldn't keep it tight for the first 10 mins of the 2nd, but you'd be hard pressed to tell who was the Prem team for most of that game. Hull go on to the final but our future is bright.

With Clough, the money from the cup run, new owners and their vision and money, can only be a bright future for United. Been a crazy season, but we are coming out of it much stronger than we started. We are big club, the right foundations are now in place for us to get back to where we belong. Enjoy your day Hull, but in few years time, we'll be back - am more confident now than I have been for a long time!

For only the second time in 21 years we have lost in a "big" game, but have a sense of hope for the future.

'93 - Deane sold within 2 months
'97 - turgid game, looked awful for the foreseeable future
'98 - ditto
'03 semi - the other occasion offering hope...
'03 PO final - ...only to be cruelly killed in 45 mins
'09 - Blackwell should have gone, that he didn't spoke volumes
'12 - turgid game etc etc, no strikers ya dad yadda yadda
'14 - The futures bright????

Well we've gotta believe we are capable of promotion next season and then to kick on up the championship after that performance today. who could have forseen this at the early part of the season under weir?

Sir Nige I salute you!!

More than aything, I believe it shows the team, the management and the coaches are worth supporting and INVESTING in.

Our team, as one person said, was as good as theirs, our depth in game changers was not.

A few talented players purchased in the off season and we could storm the league given a reasonable start.

I repeat, you were great today. Incisive, if anything, getting the ball down and playing it on the deck more than we did. There are bargains out there so you don't need to spend fodtunes on players. Yes, you are a big club. You will be back? It looked today as if you ARE back. True Hull City fans remember our years knocking around lower divisions so, despite our Premier League status, we know where we could be were it not for the Allam's munificence. I was proud of you today so you should be.

The challenge is to keep players as well as sign players. If there are offers for Maguire and Murphy it may not be possible to keep them.

I wish the prince would give us more indications of the level of his proposed investment and I wish the club board would explain to us how that can be chanelled into squad building. The FFP rules are there to be interpreted and worked around, but hopefully they are regarded as a severe problem and constraint, rather than us not having the financial muscle or the ambition.

Simple question United, is Clough to be given a bigger budget next season? If so, he will deliver.

Thanks HCF. Good luck in the final.

I think you can count that all Blades will be willing you lot to beat the Arse.

Not me. My in-laws are all Gooners and they were my local team for 15 years. I'll be more than happy to see the Arse win. I've never even been to Hull. It's in Humberside, right? :-)

I just hope that they make a ticket stub from the semi, a pre requisite for getting a ticket to the final!

Personally, I'd like to see Arsenal win and finish outside the Champions League places.

I've never had so many texts from people I've known for years and yet hadn't realised they we're Hull City fans, until yesterday evening, Wankers !

First time after a trip to Wembley or a big game loss that I actually want to go back asap.

Roll on the Johnston's Paint.

In 1968, as a football mad kid, sat in front of a black and white telly, I watched the West Brom captain, Graham Williams, lift the FA Cup. From that moment on I had a dream that one day, a Sheffield United captain would lift that same trophy. It was a dream, just that. A dream that I never really expected to happen in my lifetime.
For a brief moment yesterday after Scougall scored our second, for the first time in my lifetime, that dream seemed within grasp of becoming a possible reality. For that alone, I thank you Nigel Clough.

Since then

4 FA Cup sems and 4 play off finals on neutral grounds

I'm thinking JPT might be a realistic proposition next year. We'll field a Clough side rather than an insipid Weir side and Cloughie wants to win every game.

Much is made of Clough Snr saying the Simod Cup started it all for him.

Could we break our Wembley duck ? Or would the Footballing Gods have us losing to Torquay on penalties ?

In all honesty i don't think we will have to worry about the Play Offs next season. I have already seen enough of Clough and this team we have got, to say should be retain the management team and the nucleus of this squad, this time next year we will up already as Champions.

Surely you've been watching United long enough to know that if things look good some shit is about to hit the fan?

If it can go wrong it will go wrong. And even if it can't, The Blades will find a way to fuck it up! (Blades mantra since 1925)

Here here.

Double 100? Points and goals, although the later may be the harder.

in the past we have had managers capable of restoring our self belief, creating teams that palyed good football and that have gained us promotion. However, only a genius of a manager could do all that AND get the national press being complimentary about us as well

When I looked around at our support and saw that first half. I thought for the first time in a long time - maybe just maybe one day our time will, come.

I know it has been said before but think on. Only 9 months ago we were really in a bad place and could not afford an established manager (McCall et al). I honestly think, on reflection they were the worst couple of weeks ever for the club, even worse than relegation to the 4th because after that relegation Brearley stepped in straight away with his brass. Last July McCabe had drawn a line in the sand and said no more money. We then got the rookie manager we could afford and propped up the third division for a while.

The transformation since then has been nothing short of amazing, just three more wins and we would be right in it for promotion. Well done, can't wait for next season
