Our 3 big signings this season

'Points gained' is a tricky thing to quantify as applied to individual players, but don't winning goals net us two points, rather than three? We were already on course for one.
Exactly and you also have to assume that if these two players weren't on the field two others would be and they may or may not have not scored more goals.

Perhaps but I look at the Luke Freeman signing, clearly he would be best suited in the Duffy role and everyone assumed he was the direct replacement for Duffy. But not only have we not used that formation in the Premier League this season it also sounds like that we never had any intention of doing so. It’s does make it look a strange signing.
I don’t know what goes on in Wilder’s mind but maybe he was considering using 3412 on occasions but decided 352 worked better in the PL. I don’t think you can argue it’s been pretty successful. So why change something that is working well?
Or it could be that he thought Freeman could do Fleck’s role. Based on his early performances when Fleck was out, it’s not unreasonable to think that.
Maybe he thought with a few games to go we’d be mid table with little to play for and he’d get the chance to experiment. Or we’d be in a relegation battle where we had to take big risks to get wins.

What he probably didn’t expect was for 353 to be so successful that by February we’d be challenging at the top end of the table and what he definitely didn’t expect was for the season to be disrupted by a global pandemic and we’d still be playing in July.

You’re not wrong
Only on this forum could any old moron say;
a) a that a player who has directly got us 13 (should be 15, maybe more) points has been a waste of money.
b) a player that has directly got us 7 points (could've been 3 more if his Southampton goal wasn't wrongly ruled out, Egan wasn't interfering with play) has been a waste of money.
c) a 22 year old lad that has been tracked by all the top clubs in Europe, starred in the Europa League and Champions League, collected 20 international caps already and played half a dozen games in an unfamiliar position, system and league has been a waste of money.

This fucking forum, seriously. You lot are worse than Pigs.
Do us all a favour then and clear off to another forum with your stupid comments.

What’s stupid about pointing out how ridiculous saying 2 players who’ve earned us over 20 points alone already are a waste of money?

You’re 73 not 13

Ok you can take a point for every ‘match winning’ goal there and it’s still a very respectable tally.
That said, if that goal doesn’t go in you don’t know how the rest of the game is going to pan out...

Stalker as well as an expert on everything SUFC. Impressive.

I thought that Leicester fan was the expert on everything SUFC.

Although they both have scatter gun posts on every possible topic in common.
What are you talking about?
To be fair he might be a Leicester fan but at least he doesn’t batter our players at every opportunity. It’s embarrassing.

I talk of my experience watching a club rise from League 1 to the Premier League, 90% of my posts are based on what i've seen and nothing to do with your players/club, even though i've seen a fair amount of your games live too.

Imagine calling yourself a 'fan' and being more negative than me.

Wouldn’t worry about them pal, our fans have been missing the chance to be negative so I’m not surprised they’re taking this opportunity with both hands

Now Bert is never one to press the panic button but we've spent £50m on Mouse, Berge and McBurnie and so far they've looked a complete waste of money.

I don’t think Mcburnie is a waste.

It’s bit hypocritical to berate and harass your fellow forum members for holding a view you consider to be negative. Are you not then, exuding the exact behaviour you claim to be embarrassing?

I think it’s we know CW can coach and motivate a side. We know that fitness side of our coaching team can do excellent as well.

But the individual players brought in this season aren’t at the standard we paid for.

You paid Championship prices, but wanted Premier League players?

Exactly.
Bert has spent well over 50 years watching United, 1000 + plus games. He gives his opinion on a forum designed for that purpose and somebody comes along and calls him a moron.
You draw your own conclusions.

£22million is not championship prices. I don’t like to get into personal insults but you are very close with how stupid it is.

Moose has been value for money when he has been fit. Scored some quality goals which he has created on his own.

McBurnie has only done it in the odd game such as Brighton away.

Berge just doesn't look ready for the Premier League.
Oh.......and Man U equaliser at home?

8 Championship players signings joining the Premier League this season.

Ryan Sessegnon - £24 million
Philip Billing - £14 million
Adam Webster - £20 million
Oliver Mcburnie - £17 million
Daniel James - £15 million
Neil Maupay - £20 million
Jarrod Bowen - £19 million
Che Adams - £15 million

I don’t see how anyone can not rate Mousset. Yes he’s not been fit much, but he’s scored goals anyway. Imagine what he’ll be like with a good run and a full preseason under Wilder.

He’s miles better than McBurnie.
Nothing would make Bert happier than to see him score a lot of goals, but the mythitical preseason? He's has 10 months with us!

Phillip invisible billing.cost fourteen million pounds ?
Fuck me !

Drastic action needed, admit we've dropped a major bollock with these signings and get shut even at a loss.CW admitted his mistake with Evan's, Holmes, Thomas ect so here's hoping he will do the same even if the values are much higher. We can't afford to start next season carrying these players or we'll be in big trouble.
Understand your sentiments but no way can we afford to sell at a loss.
