The problem for Wilder is that the back 5 he has now got at Boro as still no where near as good as Baldock,Stevens, JOC, Egan and Basham in our promotion season nor has he got a front two as good as Didzy and Sharp

Wilder signs 4 strikers, Heckman signs 0. Booo
 
Lenihan = Egan as well

They'll end up strong up front

Might just be missing a posing pinger in midfield, they're relying on solid basic lads like Howson and Crooks currently

Some truth in this.

JOC, miles better than Clarke.
McNair is ok but he’s not a middle distance runner like Bash who could go end to end all day.
I thought Lenihan as a sometime midfielder was also more Bash than Egan.

Easy to forget how good Enda was in the promotion season and first one up. He was nutmegging every other week! Jones is decent forwards but not as good defensively as Baldock. Their midfield is a bit workmanlike.

Riis is a good player but something doesn’t quite look right about their attack or midfield right at the moment.

They might not need their centre halves to be as attacking though as their wing backs are superb for this level (Jones & Giles). Much stronger going forwards than Baldock & Stevens were.
So long as those 3 can provide them a platform the output might be similar.

They've got a strong squad and they're performing better than results are suggesting. They'll be there or thereabouts.
 
We've signed fuck all and are being left behind. Waiting for injured players to strengthen the team, but we all know by then we'll have more injuries, so back to bare bones. It sickens me.

Signed Fuck all? You think other teams wouldn’t have wanted Anel, Khadra, Mcatee, Doyle, Adam Davies (a proven ccampionship keeper and Welsh international) and Ciaran Clark?

We’ve signed six players and a striking department of Mcburnie, Sharp, N’Diaye, Brewster, Khadra and Jebbison is a more than ample array of options to go at the first half of the season with.

Not to mention we’ve not sold Berge or N’Diaye!

Give the club a break, wasn’t a million years ago we were signing the likes of Jasper Johns, Fabian Brandy and Sean Mcginty

Apart from Anel, probably the best centre half in the Championship.

Idiot post! And what do you do with the bloated squad and wages if we were to “buy “another couple of players and then players return fit in the next month or two,are you then going to ship out fringe players,Arblaster,Osuala etc etc and never give them a chance,bearing in mind the window shuts in a couple of days to do the business.With the business the club has done up to now, it’s astounding and potentially a top 2/3 finisher,some people love to beat the club whatever.
 
We're definitely light in midfield and probably one up front (I don't consider Jebbison & Osula as viable options as others do).
We are likely light at RWB too if Bogle isn't back any time soon.

In priority order 1) midfield - I definitely think we need to be recruiting here. 2) RWB - I think the balance of the side will be really upset if Baldock gets a knock. 3) up front - we can probably scramble through with what we have considering its 1 position and Ndiaye can play up there.

Conundrum with Jebbo is that Hecky said preseason he would definitely NOT be going out on loan this season and would bepart of first team.

To then bring in another striker with Mcburnie, Brewster and Ndiaye even able to play up top would be incredibly harsh on Jebbo.

Think hecky has to stick to his guns up front now and if believes Jebbo will be important part of team in stages this season then that's what we go with whether we like it or not.

He asked a question as he wondered if it’s only him and wrote a post to find out. As I’ve said before West Brom were certs for promotion last season due to their signings and dropped like a stone, so were Bournemouth after the Jan window and they were very close to being caught at the end.
No one is saying don’t talk about it, but to answer the actual question rather than being a bit of a patronising arse, no CO85 it isn’t only you.
Everyone else who wants to talk about it, crack on.

I don’t think we do. We are aware of the significant income from the PL and the parachute payments, but we don’t know what the size of the outgoings are nor what is left.
