Anyone watching him tonight, looking class with 2 goals so far. Hoping for a big sale in the summer for us to pocket some much needed cash

On Match of the Day last night they did a brief summary of his recent performances which prompted Dion Dublin to remark that “He only cost £ 50 million from Sheff United and is looking like a bargain at that “.

Well done Dion for yet another of your knowledgeable and perceptive comments , but the truth is that the fee we received for him was the same as that we paid for Tom Cannon of around £10 million making it effectively a straight swap …… 🙁

This analysis showed that since Osula’s introduction into the first team as recently as March , he has already scored the same number of goals in the PL as Cannon has done for us all season in the Championship .

Make of that what you willl .

Surely you mean the same number of goals Cannon has scored since joining us? 😉

Osula looks the real deal at the moment. Newcastle are more likely to try and get some cash back for Woltemade than sell a great prospect.

When we sold him he was a rough diamond. And we needed sales to help us balance. At that point it made more sense to sell Osula and keep Hamer as an example.

Potential, yes. But there was no guarantee he would progress to become a top level striker.

What Osula had and has was physical attributes that meant he could in theory go along way. But he wasn't very composed when he played with us. Looked far to good in u21s etc.

The similarity with Oné is there in terms of physical attributes.
Ryan is a wee bit younger still so time for him to develop.

Although other clubs will realise this. I suspect we want him around our squad next season but should a bid come in that is suitable wouldn't be surprised if similar outcome happens to again help us balance the books.

Osula and Jebbison both wanted away.

My memory of both their last seasons, is that neither looked that arsed. To be fair to them, they were't regularly starting, but they weren't doing enough to amke the shirt their own.

I'm surprised how well Osula has done, but £10m and a sell on, was still a good deal for us at that point.

Hardly a surprise they wanted away. There was very little chance of em playing.

We have the same issue now with One, who somehow finds himself behind the likes of Cannon, Ings, Campbell, barely any of which can move.

I understand that, initially United were negotiating with two clubs from abroad to sell him for significantly less, before Newcastle came in and out of the blue and offered £10 million. It may well turn out to be an even more unbelievable deal if he does move on and has finally put the Jebbison or Osula debate to bed 😉

Another slipped through the net via our incompetent club sales and scouting department. It doesn’t matter any,cos quite a few of our knowledgeable supporters on here thought he was crap, clueless and a touch like an inmate. Mind you,we have loaned and bought some unpolished jewels ourselves this season…….

He was not crap he was a player of potential which may or may not have been realised. He has come good and when sold we will receive additional monies. Lots of players do not improve and it is subsequently a bit of a lottery when finding out if the potential will be realised.
The monies received for him was reinvested into other players.
We have not got loads of money and subsequently have to sell to survive, or we could always go into administration like the guys up the road

In your capacity as a commercial flooring salesman, how would you have played it HC10?

Looked a bit RUGged at times and perhaps looked as though he may have had some Underlaying issues and disjointed with confidence which seemed to have been polished out of him with no grout he looks a player some of us thought he could be.
Maybe Tile this one as another that got away.
Club needs to get a gripper of itself in the future.

DCL scored a great winner for Leeds yesterday. Osula weighed in with a couple of goals.

In the Wilder era we have ammassed a staggering £11,5 million for these two players.

They wouldn't have progreesed very far with us however.

If we had prime Messi with our set up he'd struggle to make double figures.

(Another MOD comment last night was the number of goals scored by Brentford from long throws. Keith Andrews at the Lane on the coaching staff and we had to suffer JLT hurling the ball in from throw-ins without any real plan or positive result).

What do we do every day at Shirecliffe? Have seminars on pashun and culture?

Watching him play on Sunday reminded me of his U21 games for us. Too fast and too strong, charging beyond defences and clumping it home.

If his all round game improves further, he’ll be frightening.

Not Ings thankfully as he's being released. Oné will be behind Bamford (for obvious reasons), Campbell (chasing 2024/25 performances) and Cannon (Wilder will not accept that he was wrong to sign him) at the start of the season.

Was referring more to this season, hence why he was loaned out.

Agreed, plus Osula is also playing alongside quality players granted some of his goals have been sole quality efforts however even if we kept him, he would have been played out of position due to our formation and with the midfield as it is I am not sure he would have given us the return
