Sadly (or happily) when it comes down to it, its got eff all to do with eff all.

There will be games of football. We may lose, we may win.

Owt else is a human folly to try to devine order in chaos.

(Apart from the Footballing Gods. That bit is true).

forgot someone

we couldnt bring in a kid could we and expect him to make an impact , its united

but then again...............................

Not a striker, he is a wide midfielder and whilst I really like the look of Che he needs to work with someone like Higdon to get the space he had vs Spurs if he plays more centrally.

Now if you are saying that our hopes rely on the young, inexperienced shoulders of Che Adams then that is a sad indictment of the state of our striker resources at this stage of the season.

Height has nothing to do with ability on the ball.
Interesting that you say that, I actually think it does (at least in the minds of commentators etc). Smaller players are perceived as having better ability on the ball by and large I think. That's why Crouch always gives rise to the idiom "he's got a good touch for a big lad".

My personal opinion is that I'd always rather have a good big'un than a good small'un.

You do need a good mix , with all players having ability and touch on the ball wether you are tall or short . The height thing helps to counteract the opposition ,

Crouch is a good example , who can assist in helping change in play , tactics and winning a game .

A mixed balance of good big and little uns , is the key to success for me . Sometimes you have to play football , other times you have not got to be bullied.

UTB.

I have another take on the whole "we play well on big occasions". I'm not convinced this is the case. I think it's more likely to get "we play well against better teams", most likely due to the way we approach the game and that the other team attacks us, so we can counter attack.

He looks like a striker playing on the wing to me. IMO I think we need to develop him as a striker.

That means we will have to loan him out as we only play with one striker ;)

I would advocate playing him up top with Davies to see how that works in a 2.
See if he can cause similar problems that Done does - gives us an option for when Done is sidelined

The problem is , i do think the club , like us supporters , think there are no better teams , than us in this shit league . We do seem to be taken by surprise by the Oldham , Fleetwood , Crewe , Yeovil of this world.

Could it be that whoever we play the scouting and match preparation could be better, or is it we just cannot cope with teams that raise there game against us , especially at BDTBL.,

You would think they'd look at the way bigger teams treat us in cup games, and how well we do, and realise where they're going wrong.

so youd rather have drogba than messi

I'd rather have Ronaldo than Messi.

The comparison is a bit off though BTL. What I was meaning is that if I had two players of the same ability, I would tend to go for the player with the larger stature (ie Messi at 6' over Messi at 5'6")

messi maradona liam brady alan ball osvaldo ardiles quinn , the list is endless

I heard Michael Owen in an interview saying that given his size he very much doubted he would have made it as a professional in the current English leagues. I can think of at least one Division 1 (currently) club that would have him. At the end of the match yesterday Mrs HB said she had a little difficulty distinguishing some of the players from their kids.

we are proof you dont need a team of 6 foot 7 inch players , Wednesday have a policy it seems of having a minimum 6 foot 4 inch to be considered , and look how shit they are

Au contraire, we are proof that you do need a few tall players, given that recurring themes this season have been (a) conceding lots of headed goals from corners, crosses and free kicks and (b) our puny midfield getting overrun.

Good enough to get them out of Division 3, though. Utter stiffs like Reda Johnson served their purpose.

same team tore bristol city apart away and took barnsley to the cleaners , they have it in themselves but they dont seem to believe in themselves or just let the nerves stop themselves , on our day we are plenty good enough , we just need 3 of those days of belief
