The Cup game vs Plymouth on Saturday presents supporters with an opportunity to send a strong and visual message to the Board, Management and players at SUFC.

I have been a Season Ticket holder since dinosaurs roamed Sheffield, but I have decided that this weekend I shall make my individual displeasure tangible and I have not bought a ticket for the Cup game and if I had ( I very nearly did ) I would not have attended.

The crowds at BDTBL have been very creditable considering the garbage that we have been treated to this season at home, particularly in the first half of games. Whilst this continues, the Board, Management and players will carry on in the same manner. In particular, the Board who's master plan for the fourth year running is to "get promoted on the cheap", will not change this tactic unless they realise that Blades fans are sick and tired of trying to hold world beating teams like Orient, Barnsley, Oldham, Notts County etc to 0 - 0 draws or 1 - 0 wins.

A crowd of 1000, with 500 of them from Plymouth, and 100 of them hangers-on in the Directors box, would focus the mind of a few at BDTBL.

Some will disagree, but IMHO, we are going nowhere this season, again, without significant surgery to the team in January and I cannot see that happening. NC seems happy with what is happening on the pitch.

I, for one am not !!

While I agree with the sentiment, I think that boycotting the game to encourage the board to spend, would have the opposite effect and only give them reason to flog what saleable assets we do have.

That's why I suggested it for the Cup game, not a League game.

I think they all ( Board, management & players ) need a fu**ing rocket up their arses !!

I think a lot thought the same for the Crewe game a couple of weeks ago, less than 6k. It felt like a reserve game with the quiet atmosphere

Heard Plymouth have sold 2,000 so we might struggle to keep it down to 1k!

In recent weeks we've all seen the best way to get the board to change their tune, hound the b@st@rds into submission. It'll not happen as too many clappers will do the dirty work for the board and sugar coat all the excuses. Divide and rule it's how they've got away with it for the last 60 years. We get 20k Blades pinning the f***ers to the wall every home game they'll soon get the message.

Are Clappers just Unitedites who support United ,who enjoy going to the match ? Define a 'clapper'
Grow up FFS.

Get the young uns in for this one give em a go.
If hes plays the same tactics as of late for this one I,ll despair.

That will never happen fella.
If you follow a team you take whats on offer.

Does that translate as 'presents an opportunity to anyone who can't be arsed to go to the Plymouth game to pretend it's a point of principle'? Boycotting a game that is unlikely to attract 10,000 is hardly a massive statement.

Better surely to see if we draw Man United or Chelsea in the 3rd Round and boycott that? They'd have to take notice if there was only 10,000 at the Lane against one of the big boys.

It's not the board that need a rocket up their arses - It's the players !
The squad we have is more than capable of getting automatic promotion - they have the ability - What they lack is the passion, pride and b*llocks to go out onto the field and give their all !
Disappointed that Mr Clough appears satisfied with their limp performances especially at home - Barnsley, Notts Co, Oldham and MK Dons all have less quality than United yet they appeared to want to win much more than the Blades.
Most players within our squad would get automatic places in these teams !

And replies like that just prove what I'm getting at, ditto the other reply on this thread.

So long as fans are happy to take it United will carry on in their own sweet under achieving way.

Don't see how boycotting games can ever do anything but damage. I won't be there because I have zero interest in the cup competitions while we're down in L1, not to show my displeasure.
Of course the further we get the more interested I am, I went to Wembley last season so I admit that I'm probably being a bit hypocritical but for me it's all about the league and getting out of it.

'Happy to take it' proves what Im getting at. Its football ,its enjoyment ,if you really don't enjoy it that much ,why bother ?

Whatever the circumstance, you have to support your team. Got my ticket, UTB. There is no excuse for not watching the Blades.

There is, I'm performing in a panto and it's the Saturday matinee. I have however bought a ticket (long story).

Some say hit the car park, some say boo you say stay away.

I say stick by your club through thick and thin. Just got my Plymouth tickets and Port Vale tickets. Nowt will stop me going to my football matches.

cant understand any season ticket holder missing a match deliberately (protest or not) ive been a season ticket holder for
50 years and never have i missed a match in protest and we have been in some dark places in that time.we always bounce back and will again.
COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZARDS

I haven't taken this decision lightly, I assure you, but nothing is being done to address the crap that has been served up and the shortcomings of the team, which have both been glaringly obvious since the start of October.

I think sufficient games have now been played to make this harsh assessment. Another season in this crappy Division is currently the most likely outcome.

I'm sorry mate but I don't agree. I don't think that we do have the squad to get promotion and I think the home record proves that. With this current squad, I expect to finish 6th to 10th in this crappy division, because we can't score in a brothel and we leak stupid goals. All exacerbated by the fact that we have one of the most lightweight and "powder puff" midfields in the Division. It really doesn't work.

I've been going since I was 4, and I will be a season ticket holder next year and for the next 40 years if I'm still alive BUT sometimes you just fel that a stand needs to be made when supporters are being blatantly ignored and s**t on.

I have to say its been happening for 30 + years at BDTBL.

I sympathise with Darthblade, but I don't think staying away is the answer. The board wouldn't give a fat fuck anyway.

The better method is vocal castigation at games.

In a related subject, we haven't heard much from the board these days. Their spin doctor has shut the fuck up, and this new-job overseas footballing potential project manager outreach co-ordinating operative director whatever doesn't seem to be doing much, despite someone on here asking 'what is his objectives'.

Cynical fuckers

To be fair to that Baki chap, he's been doing the job for 2 weeks.

If people restricted their complaints to valid points, rather than throw out insults toward every facet of the club, it'd surely be more worthwhile?

Two weeks? And what are the returns? What is his brief, what are his overheads and ... more importantly, what gained value does he represent?

If I had a job for two weeks, I would be expected to show some work for the pay, as I am sure you would as well alco. What is his return, so far?

Get Jean Hatchet to organise 160,000 signatures demanding that the Board cave in again and sign some decent players.

We are wasting half the season by not getting players in now. Already we are playing catch up. By January the promotion horses may well have bolted, An excuse to continue doing nothing positive.. Teams with fewer resources are able to bring in half decent players, so should we be.
