Look at that defenders backing off giving Ched the space to shoot...........when Sharp gets the ball there is no space, the defender is usually hugging/wrestling Sharp.

I'm confused.
The defenders are backing off him because they're scared he's going to shag them, that's why he's scoring a few. He's proved he's not shy of the man product. ;)

Said this from the off, we couldn't afford to not bring him back! Now look.

Fancy one of our strikers MAKING SPACE FOR HIMSELF, getting defenders on the back foot and smashing shots on goal?

If only eh.

We're only allowed headless chickens or lumps.

My opinion is as it's always been. If he hadn't done what he did, guilty or not, we wouldn't have been stuck in this division. At worst, he is a rapist, at best he's a bellend who should have kept it in his trousers. So on that basis, for me he can bollocks.

I think that what this forum needs right now is yet another fuckin Ched Evans thread as I'm sure that no one has already posted their opinions on all the other ones and I'm dying to re-read them all somewhere else.

No amount of money would get Ched back at the lane, he's happy, he feels loved and is scoring goals.
We shat on him when he was willing to play for free.

Trust me on this.

Without passing comment on should we shouldn't we, I understand what Danny says is true.

Always happy to be un-PC. I thought, in this age of equality, we're all the same, or does 'sexual predator' only apply to men? After the match last Saturday, I was travelling up West Street at 5.15 and it was awash with women - some of whom nearly had clothes on. Same last night.
Ched was 'guilty' of what tens of thousands of blokes try for every Friday and Saturday night (and the rest hope for). Twas ever thus.

Yeah and without passing comment on the moral rights and wrongs of it all, I think it's plain to see we got this badly wrong. We gave into the sponsors and 'patrons' and let a now innocent until proven guilty (again) lad down badly when all he wanted to do was play for this club again. He was willing to play for nowt ffs. He had more passion for us than any sponsor or patron ever will.

I still don't understand why sponsors and 'patrons' had to say anything at all. In reality they had nothing to lose. They weren't forced to say anything but they did anyway, for their little bit of publicity. If the 'patrons' had anything about them they should've accepted that their views don't mean any more than any other fan's (if they are even a fan that is...) whilst understanding those views will be used by an agenda driven media to cast negativity over the club and put them under pressure. But the self important nobodies just couldn't resist. Even worse, the spineless wankers at the club gave in to them rather than listening to the majority of our fanbase.

Then surprise surprise.....as his contract is due to end he plays like a man playing for a new contract

He was playing like a man no longer going out on the lash every night.

Honestly!! 50% of the men in Sheffield should keep it in their trousers. Yes, the whole thing was somewhat unsavoury, considering that he had a girlfriend at the time (so I believe). However, let s/he who is without sin .... and all that.

There's a world of difference between a rapist and someone who cheats on their partner. If there weren't then a lot of us would be in the s**t.

Hopefully he can put all this behind him, learn to treat the women in his life with a whole lot more respect and move forward with his career, which is just what he appears to be doing.

FFS - Ched's history to SUFC.

Thanks for some memories Ched - no thanks to dragging us through turmoil due to your stupidity and immaturity.

Never thought he was guilty - but hey ho and FFS - we MUST move on.

Fair point and I agree what you say about the women. Doen't make it right though. If he hadn't did what he did, this conversation would never be happening.

I agree with what you are saying. I'm certainly not without sin, but my actions have never cost Sheffield United football Club, his did in my opinion. Even if it is what happens "every weekend in town" it doesn't make it right.

for what it's worth, I agree with your last paragraph too. Whatever anyone thinks, he's done his time. If people who have killed are allowed to continue their football careers, then so should he.

Nobody had the balls to take him while he was a convicted rapist, so we weren't alone there.

Once his conviction was quashed, I was surprised we seemingly didn't make him an offer. But then again, maybe we didn't want to risk it, in case he's found guilty again.

Either way, we've got several strikers who have very good records at this level. Scoring goals shouldn't be the problem.

I wonder what the average age of those saying United bottled it is?

A slightly irrelevant example as none of your actions would/could cost Sheffield United Football Club.
Even footballers are human and make mistakes.

Which is exactly what I said in the post you quoted.

I agree, they are human and make mistakes, his mistake in my opinion cost us. Thats all I'm saying.
