open top champions bus parade

That's a Tuesday....funny day for it.

The bank holiday day before would be better and more of a party.

Really don't like the idea of a bus parade to celebrate winning the third tier.

Very tinpot, let's wait till we've got an FA Cup to show off ;)

Was afraid to post something similar at the risk of being run off the forum for being a negative, cynical bugger.

We've won Division 3. Open top buses and knighthoods should be reserved for the biggest honours.

Hoping to hear Tufty come out and say something along the lines of 'the job has only just begun'...

Don't see the need for a open top parade or reception. It's great that we are champions of the third division and did it on merit however, if we feel this is only the start of our journey then what's the point?

The goal is yet to be reached, once we get there, then we can display all the trappings of success.

We've actually won something for the first time in 30 odd years, let's enjoy it and allow the team and Wilder the congratulations they deserve.

You need to live life for the moment and celebrate hard earned success, I for one am enjoying this achievement since it happens once in 3-4 decades when you're a blade.

One step at a time.

I am engaged on other business that day so the decision on whether to attend or not has been taken out of my hands.

I think I would have said definitely not going, then mellowed a bit, then run out for a train at the last minute as I couldn't miss an opportunity to celebrate with my fellow Blades but as I will be in Harrogate it aint gonna happen.

Can't see there being many at a bus parade a couple of days after 30,000 have turned up to see the trophy being presented, lap of honour (an actual real one) etc.
Besides it only being the third division, the main celebration is surely going to be the last match.

its on 2nd May if anyone was wondering when it was been confirmed by a reliable source not sure about the time yet though
Only way I could get excited about that is if the Wednesday squad were pushing around the whole route.

Forget the FA cup, with Wilder at the helm, the premier league title and world cup are only a stones throw away!!!!!

Don't see the need for a bus parade. A sold out bramall lane will be plenty. Also it pains me to say, but if the pigs go up we will look a bit silly

Didn't they have one when they got promoted from League One last time.

Anyway, who cares about them. We're proper Sheffield, owned, managed and captained. They're just another foreign owned and managed non-entity. I bet that if their chairman could move the 'franchise' to Bangkok, he would.

There is going to be a civic reception. McCabe was in touch with the council suggesting dates on last Monday.

Why not have it on the Bank Holiday Monday? o_O

Probably didn't have permission from the council
They didn't want more United fans there than was necessary

Much better to have it on a working day and not have to put netting over Fargate, Barkers Pool, Division Street, Leopold Street and Pinstone Street
