Sheffield United's popular Open Day will return this summer to whet fans' appetites ahead of the new season.

Over the years, United's Open Day has attracted tens of thousands of fans and Sunday 3 August 2008 is expected to be better than ever.

Once again the players will be training on the pitch and signing autographs for fans. With the event being just six days before the start of the Championship campaign, any new signings Kevin Blackwell makes will also be on show, including latest recruits Greg Halford and Sun Jihai.

As well as opening up the ground to enable fans to have a good look around the Lane, the club is also currently planning a number of new attractions for the day.

United's Operations Director, Simon Argall, says: "Our Open Days have proved tremendously successful over the years and we are delighted to be able to throw open the doors once again to thousands of supporters.

"As ever, there will be fun for all the family - it is great to see young fans wandering around the ground with beaming smiles on their faces."

Open Day has always been an event jam-packed with fun for all ages of the family, so make a note in your diary to keep Sunday 3 August free to make a trip to the Lane.

There will be activities, attractions and entertainment between 10am and 3pm and, as usual, the event is free. You don't have to spend a penny!

Keep checking www.sufc.co.uk for more news on Open Day throughout July.

You can have your picture taken with the players if you ask them as well as getting their autographs ;)

just hope they have all the players together in one area will be easier to see them all then.

Will go down, as my youngest has her first season ticket, so I'd like to take round the Hallowed Ground. She's been to matches, but all round the place.

Same here, time for the kids to seejust what there Dad is going to inflict on them while ever they live at our house.!!!

I assume the majority of forum members will be making an appearance?

A quick pint in the Lion (weather permitting) to toast the Forums third birthday could be in order :D

I'll be there, bringing the mothership, doubt i'll get her in the Lion though, need to get a birthday card signed from the players for bro's 40th.

Also, does anyone know what sort of time they will start the autograph thing?

This Sunday is my and Mrs SV's sixth wedding anniversary, so as I am at heart a true romantic, I will be with my first true love.

I'm bringing the wife to the open day too.

If its like previous open days, its generally between 12.30pm - 1.30pm when they take their seats :)

I'll be there!

Well my seat is still there, that's the most important thing :D

Got some piccies for the exiles when Foxy pulls his finger out and gets them sorted.

I thought it was pants, worse than any other I have been to. Although I got a Chengdu scarf for a bargain price of 1 whole pound :D

Good job I decided not go and watched the GP instead.

Although a Chengdu scarf would of been nice. :)
