Only lost 6 league one matches all season and half of those were in the first 4 games when we lost 3 and drew 1 so had only one point. So since then we have lost only 3 times and amassed 71 points from 32 games. Quite remarkable record.

UTB

only lost 3 of last 32

still some think we can fail ,,, go figure

we had to do well in feb and early march they said
we have done very well

we once blew a 5 point lead they said
its only 11 points now

Just 2 months ago Scunny were 7 points in front of us. Now we are 11 in front of them. Seems a lifetime ago people were saying "they're too far in front to catch"

Good to see all of our " scunny will blow up at some point " premonitions come true :D

They took their fucking time though

I clearly remember stating "Scunny are going nowhere this season". Seems i was right but not in the way i thought

I think most of us had a feeling that they'd hit a run of bad form at some point , but the way they've literally imploded in the new year is incredible . There's fans of theirs wanting Adkins back before the end of the season ....... how bad is that !!!

They have not won a league match since January.

Them and Bolton have only won 2 of their last 10 league matches.

I thought they were here for the duration to be honest. It looked a straight 3 way fight with us, them and Bolton and I didn't see much between us. The fact United have been so consistent is a testament to everyone at the club but they way Scunny and to a lesser extent Bolton have tailed off has been as incredible as Fleetwoods rise

I think the loss of Clough had a big impact on Bolton, madness to let your best player leave on transfer deadline day.

True . But the fact they had to let ameobi go back to Newcastle right royally fucked them too .

I watched Bolton at home to Gillingham on sky when they won 4-0 . Clough , Vela and Ameobi tore them a new arse hole and at the time I thought they'd be hard to beat . Take 2 of the 3 out though and they were fucked . Slightly reminiscent of us letting Deane and Fjortoft go on the same day . You can't recover from that .

The lost Sammy Ameobi after his loan from Newcastle expired too. Arguably their most creative player when he was there. Double whammy.

I don't think they were ever going to be able to keep him on loan, he was clearly better than league one. Hasn't he gone straight back into the Newcastle squad?

I think it was October when some bright spark posted that the rest of us were playing for second. I think I gave him/her the benefit of my experience.

He hasn't even featured in the team since he returned.

I wonder if we could snap him up in the summer? We could always do with another tricky winger.

Maybe Bolton couldn't afford to keep him anyway.

Would be a decent signing if we could get him.

Not really. It's a long season and you end up where you deserve. I explained this many times to the "they won't falter" brigade. It sometimes pays to listen to people who've been around a bit...

Credit where credit is due Pinchy , you nailed your colours to the mast early doors and never wavered in your beliefs . Most of us predicted exactly the same thing but got a little bit ' twitchy ' the longer the season went on . Such steadfast belief is a rare commodity nowadays and just like Tufty I'm betting you were also heavily influenced by a certain Mr Bassett and his time at the Lane ?

About as bad as Derby giving McClaren a second chance. To fuck them up.

Nah I never hurt us when we sold Blackman, Maguire, Murphy and so on .........
