So Coventry & Chesterfield might not have sacked their managers if matches ended at half time. Maybe they have been given Horlicks during the break, and it's made them feel tired in the second half.

Who went to the trouble of working that out?

More importantly they seriously need to get out more

Wilder had us bottom of the table after 4 matches . The twat should have been sacked then . Instead we've had to endure the worst season in living memory .

I remember a rather ungracious Moroccan Athlete moaning at the 2004 Olympics that..

"If that had been an 800 and 1 meter race I would have won the gold medal not Kelly Holmes"

...rather shame for her it wasn't.

Presumably therefore if matches kicked off on 45 minutes, we'd be about 30 points clear.

Who worries about this kinda shit

But they don't finish at half time! That's why its called half time. Jeez. Talk about scraping the barrel for facts and stats.

Matches are played over 90 minutes so this stat means.............

Its as meaningless as being bottom after 4 games was.
Wed be relegated if the season ended then

Bury would have got promoted if it stopped when they were 2nd
But it didnt

These stats are another huge testament to the professionalism of our management team.

Firstly, it suggests that we are probably the fittest side in the League, lasting better than all of our opponents.

Secondly, it suggests that we can analyse what is happening, identify a way of addressing it and implement effective changes at half time.

Finally, perhaps all of our opponents have had to run their bollocks off in the first half to keep us in check.

This is pointless! Who cares about the half time table... if this was the case it would be Fergie out all these years ago!

The fact is we are top... and a game is won over 90 minutes not 45!

If every game finished after 5 mins we'd probably still be in the premier league. Just saying as I have no facts to back this up :-)

Good sides do get stronger as the game goes on. This is no surprise to me but I do like my stats so cheers :)

Also testament to the style we have played this season.

The way we keep the ball and pass with purpose in the first half inviting teams to come at us wears them out and we reap the benefits of this in the second half when they are knackered. Coventry game was a prime example of that - first half their midfield and strikers worked really hard chasing everything down meaning it was hard for us to be penetrative in our attacks but teams can't maintain that level of intensity for 90 minutes.

When Fleetwood came to the Lane I noticed that their strikers weren't pressing our defenders and Coutts when we keep the ball - definitely think that is a more effective way of playing against us.
