One of our wins was against the divisions whipping boys who everyone is hammering, the other was an at the death goal, against another struggling club. Conversely our two defeats have been against the current top two.
Reserving judgement after only four games. Not seen us play as yet but we’re apparently playing well

If we sign a decent striker to add serious competition to what we have then I think we’d be in with a chance of 5th or 6th.

No striker and it’ll be a mid table finish.

A couple of decent loan signings and Wednesday will be up there for sure.

And how is that going to be possible given their financial situation? I know the "secret embargo" has been lifted now, but that doesn't mean they have money to spend. They are still in serious financial difficulties. Bringing players in on loan still costs money - wages for example. So the chances are they will have to get players out, before they can bring players in, even on loan. And they've only got a handful of players that other clubs may be interested, the ones who happen to be their best players. So it will be tricky.

I find it very hard to see us finishing above 8th.

Stoke, West Brom, Boro, Leeds, Villa, Brentford and Swansea all look too far ahead of us.

Then there's Forest and Derby who are a little less predictable.

We'll do well to finish 10th again.

Stoke haven't won a game yet, and their fans are very worried about the season ahead - two i work with both think they'll get mid table at best.

They have a very strong squad and a reliable manager and should only get better.

Annoyingly it looks like they might be signing Ryan Woods too. If that's to go alongside Joe Allen and the rest, that's an absolute joke.

Couple of wins and the fans will change their tune.

To be fair I think that the Wendy have had a better start than I expected - I do expect them to tail off a bit though after a fantastic start to the season :p

Having now watched everyone a few times and allowing for adjustment to the division I would guess:-

1. Middlesbrough
2. West Brom
3. Stoke
4. Leeds
5. Aston Villa
6. Derby

Don’t fancy Swansea despite their good start. I think they’re an average side that have fallen lucky. United will finish somewhere between 7th - 10th.

Stoke are shite.

Watched Stoke get walloped by Wigan tonight. It's not looking fantastic for them, I see Wigan having a similar trajectory as us last season, so they're decent, but Stoke just didn't look like a team at all.

Seems like they're full of selfish Premier League players trying to show they're still good enough, rather than, you know, pass the ball, play as a team, and earn points.

Maybe they'll realise this and get their shit together but tonight I just felt like I was watching 11 players mentally preparing their tantrum for later when they ring their agent.

Fake news.

Brentford are practically perfect in every way.View attachment 43335
On the other hand, if Brentford can slowly build a side to challenge for promotion without receiving huge amounts of money from their owner, it gives hope to clubs that don’t have billionaire owners. Like us.

I’d rather see Brentford go up playing decent football based on good scouting and recruitment and ‘wheeling and dealing’ than see ‘boro, for example, go up through spending vast amounts of cash and leathering the ball towards a big man up front.

Posting a reasoned opinion about Brentford is all well and good, but you do realise that you have committed the heinous 'cap doffing' crime don't you?

This 'crime' is quite useful in shutting down debate and as a bonus, implying superiority on the part of the accuser.

Coming along in 5....4....3....2....1.....
