Only 700 sold today in general sale apparently.. Let's sell out the 5500. We sold 4000 for Donny so whats wrong with Barnsley?

Support this season has been brilliant, 4th season in 3rd Division, 20,000 average at home, best away support in league and in top 6 or 7 outside prem.
However, can't just expect everyone to keep turning up, when honestly we've been well below par these past few weeks.

When we played Donny away we could EASILY have finished 2nd in the league - hence the great support.

We are now only looking at the playoffs - fans are quite simply voting with their feet. If we could realistically have got 2nd, we would have sold 7,000

As for me: I am on holiday, and out of the country - but, I would have come back a day earlier IF we were going for 2nd place - sadly we are not.

That would have been my commitment to my club (even accepting my wife would be thoroughly pissed off).....but with the lack of commitment from our team, then give me one good reason why I should come back 1 day early? The answer has nothing to do with not being a big blade or small blade, or cheap skate Blade - it is just where we find ourselves at the moment.

How fucking long have you got?

I have the "pleasure" of working both in Barnsley and Walsall. They are pretty much like the rest of the country... as was about 30 years ago. No problems for them with replica shirts, 125 years ago is just like yesterday to them.

no one in their right mind wants to visit Barnsley at the best of times especially as there is a fair chance of getting stuffed on th pitch to boot.

Would have been nailed on if it was 3 o'clock but the early KO has ruled it out. We should sell at least 4k though.

Few weeks ago I told myself I was going to start going to away games again, was intending of going to 6 of the last 7, went and got the tickets for Crawley & Scunthorpe that afternoon. Wasn't bothered about Walsall but was going to take Tuesday & Wednesday off work to go to Yeovil. After how we've played recently though, I don't think I can be bothered. Don't want to see us get spanked by Barnsley and can't be arsed to drive all the way to Yeovil on a Tuesday night to see another shit performance, Oldham away is on my 30th birthday and Leyton Orient means the ballache that is getting to a match in London.

Had we been playing anything other than mind numbingly boring football then I'd be more interested in going!

Never thought I'd stick up for barnsley, but...
Their worst area vs ours- there's no comparison. We put ourselves on a bit of a pedestal when you consider some of the slums we have in sheffield

Me too - worked in Barnsley (well Shafton) for 6 years and they are now and always will be "salt of the earth" - they speak their mind but carry a massive chip on their shoulder where Sheffield are concerned. Fellow Yorkshiremen don't come into it when it's Sheffield (us or the pigs) v Barnsley - as evil as anyone when there's a football match.

At the Fleetwood game, I was planning my first proper away game for over 20 years and talking about getting tickets for Barnsley. By half past three I'd decided "Fuck that"

Using 12.15 kick off as an excuse not to go is pretty feeble. Say the game was at Walsall at 3, you'd have to leave at the same time as going to Barnsley for 12.15. So what's the problem? Oh, I suppose you do need to have a drink or two to watch us at the moment!
I've got my tickets btw

One day, sometime, probably a long time in the future we will get to play them b@stards when our team actually deserves a bit of backing.
Every time we meet them we do so having alienated our support with boring, non descript, shit performances.

One of my mates cant go as he doesnt finish work until 12.30. Thats the problem

It was embarrassing getting dicked by the dingles at the lane so I would expect quite a lot don't want to risk seeing them do the double over us which looks like it could be a distinct humiliating possibility.

I was meant to be getting a ticket for myself and 8 others. Defeat vs. Fleetwood changed our decision.

Can't be arsed spending the money. Afterall the season may be having 3 extra games to attend (all being well)

Like some have said, win the next 2 and we will sell out. Confidence amongst the fans is understandably low.

The nail in the coffin for us was Scunthorpe away. Maybe tonight the same team will reverse our decision

Is it on the telly box or is that an SYP change in times

Don't know if you would class Thurnscoe as Barnsley ,but in my opinion it is the shittest place on earth ,during and after mining.
Im going btw ,well Ive got a ticket, not sure if we are going away for a week yet though.
