what are you talking about? we played well, we were the better team by a long way!

were you there? you cant have been, no one knows that little about football surely?

Apart from a journeyman like Iwelumo being too good for our defence to cope with and us not being able to capitalise on a poor Wolves defence.

Yeah, we was magic tonight wasn't we

we hit the post, each of their keepers made an excelent save, we has a goal that went in not given

we were on top pretty much from start to finish, on another night it could have been 4 or 5

and the 2 inform strikers in this league baged against us!

A journeyman who just happens to have been banging goals in all season. He's in form and we gave him two chances, took them both. That was the difference today.

We made far more chances than the best team in the league, we didn't finish as clinically as them.

Goals win games fair enough, but could you honestly say we were outclassed? that we played badly?

1st half we played well..............but as always big games we lose .......thats why we've won f*ck all for a 1000 years.

Cheap as chips Blackie ain't the man.

Going 3-0 down i'd say it was pretty nailed on that we played badly as teams who don't play badly don't tend to go 3-0 down at home.

If we go 3 down at home is there any way to say that we are not being out classed?

Better sides than us would have taken their chances, better sides would not have conceded three.

Like I said, I agree their finishing was the difference today. But better sides would not have allowed us to create so many chances to waste and would have created far more themselves.

Given that their goals pretty much all came after sustained Blades pressure, I'd say they didn't really outclass us. They outscored us yes, but they didn't run rings round us by any stretch of the imagination.

Of course it isn't good to conceed 3 goals at home, what I'm trying to say is they didn't play us off the park and they didn't look by any stretch to be comfortable.

They aren't the complete team that people make out and will have to ride their luck/keep firing on all cylinders to continue their run of form, I'd say Reading were better.

What difference does it make if i have been or not?

For the record i have been and i'm pretty fucking far from happy to see us getting turned over by a side we really should be competitve against

because if you havent been, then your opinion would be pretty pointless.

but since you have been, i dont understand how you think we have played badly

I think we played badly as our finishing was wasteful, our defence seemed slack and let them in for three decent chances and against someone like Wolves you can't play like that as the way they are playing they will turn you over.

I can let a performance and result like that go once in a while but we looked sloppy where it counted tonight and i can't blame anyone else other than ourselves, and we have now turned in two bad results in games where it has counted against Reading and Wolves and we as supporters should and do deserve better than getting turned over by sides we really should be looking to go after

but if that goal that WAS, was given, it would have been 1-1 and we wouldnt have been chasing the game so much!, it would have been a different game totally, you cant legisltate for such bad luck (or bad officials)

on another day beattie shot that hit the post would go in. things just didnt go tonight, we certianly didnt play badly

You have to make your own luck and we should have capitalised more when we had the long spell where we created more. Without all the ifs, buts and maybe, for me it is black and white that if we had done what Wolves had done then we would have been having an entirely different conversation on here tonight.

We looked very very vulnerable against the quick break and pace and that is something that needs addressing.

not about creating your own luck

we scored a goal that would have changed the game

some retard linesman didnt give it

on another note. the same linesman, saw the ball go out for a corner earlier on in the game, wich killa kept in by a good yard.

Well that was a unlucky result from a neutral's point of view. I was there in Westfield Health Upper Corner and i will be certainly returning sometime soon, i really enjoyed it, even though i was told my ticket was in the Family Stand but then it wasnt. I thought Blades was the better team through out the whole game even though you conceded 3 soft goals IMO, but clearly the better team lost :( (Bring back Jon Stead)

Always good to hear a neutral view eastfieldseadog.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit!

have you been?

Yes, he was there.

I had a crap pint with him at half time. He's been home and away a damn sight more than a lot of Blades I know in recent years (myself easily included in the away bit).

I'll agree with brownie that our defence does look in trouble much more than it should do, but tonight really has to go down as 'one of those nights' as far as I'm concerned.

We weren't shite at all, and one decision (not to award a goal) made a big difference. Wolves really aren't that great, but have that 'roll'; the same one we had a few years back, when things go your way.

brownie is just one who can only ever have the cup brimming full, or bone dry.

There's no half measure with him.

Cheers Seadog. All the best to Scarborough Athletic too  (assuming you follow them!)

And so says my Doghead mate himself. That said, they're as born pessimists as we are!

Even though we played well tonight, yet again when it counts, we arnt able to get the result we need.
Id take us playing awful but getting 3 points. Thats what will get us out of this league. Grinding out results when needed. The fact is we didnt win. And thats all that matters. Im worried that were relying way to much on Beattie and if he ends up injured then we'll fall away from the chasing pack. We need a striker who is the perfect foil for Beattie. I.E someone with pace who can finish.

I wonder if Wolves will sell us Ebanks in Jan?
