What's happening in Spain, are we playing any matches? Anyone got the inside line to report back on performances, who's playing and who's carrying the water?

God last few weeks of the closed season are painful.

We're playing a Murcia Region Representative team...
Yeah - me neither.

I'm glad it's not just me that has trouble recognising our players these days.

Adams - scoring 12 goals in his first season in league football at the age of 19. Pretty impressive if you ask me.
You are talking a strike rate of 1 goal in 4 apps in the third division does not warrant a huge bid from the Premiership.
Last season he was mediocre couple of decent games against Chesterfield and Rochdale.
Go the Slew way if you want Che but you will regret it.

Unfortunately nowadays that DOES warrant a huge bid. That's football and the money in it nowadays.

The fact of the matter is that Premier League teams have a larger budget for their u21s teams that the majority of Championship sides and all L1 and L2 sides.

To bid £1 million or £2 million for a player who has played a small number of first team games and is under 20 years old is no gamble at all. The 1 or 2 they get right, covers the 10 they get wrong.

The main decision is with the player. Do they push on at their current team and play first team football or do they take the money and play u21s football.
Slew went for the money. Maguire stayed and played first team football.

I would suggest although Maguires career is stuttering, he is still miles ahead of where Slew is !!!!

I would like to see him progress with us and i know for a fact Wilder wants to keep him.

I hope they all didn't think they were going for a jolly as they are going to be put through the ringer over 4 days. On the plus side I think wilder will take them for a beer when they get back

On the down side, it'll be lager....
